"This is big; it's really impressive - the first human-made object to make it out into interstellar space." ""It's utterly astonishing that this fragile artefact, based on 1970s technology, can signal its presence from this immense distance."

I remember this event leaving earth to go into space. Was a time when things were built well, everyone took a lot of pride in their work, and this Country still got behind missions and was excited about space. Now we have our NASA Engineers sweeping floors here in Central Florida since NASA let go of so many people.

Not only did Voyager leave for interstellar space but I think we also left a lot of things too, seems sort of an appropriate date. This has been an interesting voyage for me along with Voyager so another 10 years of signals I'm still in the game. My lifetime space event.
