Matt Taibbi: Democrats Must Stop Ted Cruz's Hollywood Ending

The Obama White House has rightly refused to negotiate with the Cruz-ians, but there's still a strange lack of urgency in some of the administration's public statements, and that lack of urgency is beginning to draw notice.

What a great article! Thanks for posting it, Judy. It's October 13 now - only four days to go to see what's gonna happen to Ted Cruz and company.

The whole government shut down is an example of the political folly of the Republicans. So much so that they are in a state of denial over who caused it. Cruz is eyeing up the Presidency yet is in the process of making being the Republican party a byword for corruption and incompetence. Given they chose to throw the baby out with the bathwater with the shut down. If anything Ted Cruz may be found face down in an alley with his pants down in the not too distant future.

Americans Against Fox News and Republican Lies

"Americans have put up with criminal sedition from the Kochs and Republicans for too long and they cannot be held to a different standard or above the law because they are rich and powerful. In fact, their violation of the U.S. Code may well be the easiest, and only, means of stopping their continued assault on America’s representative democracy. Obviously the Koch brothers were rattled by charges they were behind the government shutdown through their funding efforts to hold the government hostage in exchange for eliminating the ACA or they would not have written a letter lying about their involvement. But they, their think tanks, PACs, and cohort in Congress and the states cannot deny they are guilty of seditious conspiracy to “oppose the authority of, or prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States” and no American should be satisfied until they are fined or imprisoned for twenty years. If there is any justice left in this corrupt nation, they will get both."

Thanks, everybody! The economy reminds me of the old silent movie heroine, tied to the railroad tracks as the train barrels down the tracks towards her. Unlike that movie, though, I don't foresee a happy ending.

The Kochs may be guilty as hell, but justice is for sale to the rich and powerful. I do wish they would be held accountable, Sherry.
