Footage broadcast around the world last week showed Tiny the western lowland gorilla taking his first uncertain steps. Three months old, the first gorilla to be born in 20 years at London Zoo hadn't previously strayed from his mother, 12-year-old Mjukuu.

Sad that Tiny lost his father before he was born. He certainly has a good mom to make up for it, she appears to take good care of him. Thanks Yrna.

So many stories of animals born in zoos and I feel so sad to think of all these beautiful babies that will never experience life in the wilderness but in an enclosure so people can see them and have fun.
