What the USA should have is a party for the animals instead of a party of animals or should i rather say beasts?

I have heared Ron Paul and he would be ten times better than Hillary, Obama and Mc Cain together...its too bad that he is not running for president!
And its too bad that the president is not the president for the people but the president for the industry!

Has anyone heard what Unity 08 has been up to lately? If they nominate Ron Paul in July, I will vote for him. For then he would be on the ballot in all 50 States. I like Obama, buit in my mind, we the people are going to have to tell who ever it is that wins, what we want!

Kim, thank you for this important information - I really appreciate your sharing it with us!!! As far as I know, Ron Paul is still in the race(unless he has just recently out) and he is currently running as a Republican, although he made need to be considering alternatives to have a truly good chance of becoming President.
Without a doubt in my mind, Ron Paul is much better than the other candidates. Don't take my word for it, his book "THE REVOLUTION: A MANIFESTO" has just been released. Folks are having trouble getting a copy of it, but you shouldn't have a problem if you order it from Amazon.
In his own words, Ron Paul writes about his concerns about our ever-expanding government, our economic crisis, taxes increasing. And, if you want someone who will get our troops HOME NOW - Ron Paul is the one to support.
But because of the media blackout - Ron Paul is like "David" fighting "Goliath". Unless we unite - in BIG NUMBERS - to help him become President, he doesn't have much of a chance. Nobody said it would be easy, but when you think of the current state of the world and what that will mean to the future of our children and grandchildren, it is a cause deserving of all of our efforts.
If you want to know how you can help, here is one way. YOU can unite with others who are Ron Paul supporters by joining a local RonPaul Meetup Group. BUT, if there is not one near you, you can START ONE YOURSELF! It's not hard.
Also, there is a peaceful Grand March/Rally ("REvolution/Freedom March") which is planned for July 12, 2008 in Washington, DC . Too far? You can find information to help you plan how to get there by going to
http://revolutionmarch.com
As was stated in his book: "Ron Paul , the 'New York Times' once wrote, is a politician who 'can not be bought by special interests'."
If you want - the RIGHT KIND OF CHANGE - get involved to help make it happen.
The Founding Fathers did not intend (and for GOOD REASON) for our country to have a government that is ever-expanding and having our basic freedoms being taken away from its people.
RETURNING ---- CHANGING from the current status quo BACK TO to the principles in which America was founded is the only way to insure our children and future generations will enjoy the fruits of our Costitution.
Please, get involved in supporting Ron Paul before it is too late.
Thank you Kim, I too believe that Ron Paul is a very good man.
Carol C. Please don't credit our founding fathers with too much intent to to protect the common people. The fact is, they they felt the Government should be small AND run by the Elite of the country who would know best how to rule.
Alexander Hamilton wanted the President and Senate to be of the most elite and to be appointed for life. He argued for giving the "first class elite" a distinct and permanent share of the Government. His suggestion was voted down, however a compromise was developed. The Constitution does not provide for direct elections except for the House of Representatives. (That was given to the ordinary folk as a way of allowing them to believe that they could actually vote for government representation.) They built in safeguards for that. Any legislation would also have to pass the Senate, avoid veto by the President, and, as a last resort could be contested in the U.S. Supreme Court. (All of whom would be representative of the "First Class of People", the elite of the country. Brilliant men who knew history and the law, and to whom it would fall to actually govern the country.)
As for voting for the Representatives, that was left to the states to determine who voted with property ownership a key qualification. And of course, women, Indians and Blacks-free or slave-had no vote. It was actually inconceivable for these men (Our founding fathers, the framers of our revered Constitution) to consider allowing just anyone to vote.
Good points, Marian. To think that Ron Paul as President would be able to accomplish any more than he has as a Member of Congress, is delusional.
This country is run by the military-industrial complex and by the wealthy elites who use their corporations to shield them from liability as they exploit and destroy people and resources for personal profit. They have the final say, and when a President does what they want, it happens, but when a President tries to oppose them, it doesn't happen. In extreme cases such a President can even be assassinated, as was JFK.
The electoral system is indeed a sham, but there are still people who believe in it, just as there are still people who believe in many other illogical and impossible things. Those who want or need to believe, will continue to believe. And when their savior fails to get the nomination and throws his support to the nominee, someone whose agenda is diametrically different, the true believers will rationalize it and go on believing.
If you believe that the world will end on Tuesday, and Tuesday comes and the world doesn't end, you just admit that you made a mistake and that it was really supposed to end on Wednesday, and when it doesn't end on Wednesday either, you rationalize that and expect it to end on Thursday or Friday. No matter how often facts prove them wrong, beliefs persist because they are not subject to realistic assessment. A matter of faith is a matter of faith.
Those who believe that a revolution can be led by a member of the establishment working within the system, have honed their beliefs to the epitome of irrationality. It's like believing that more rain will dry out the lawn. But this is America, and while we may not have the right to vote directly for President and Vice-President, to vote on issues of primary importance, or to recall, impeach, or remove representatives who act against our interests, we do have the right to believe any absurdity we wish. For many, this right compensates for the lack or loss of all other rights.
Just because you can't vote for a Presidential candidate, you still have the right to believe that because their name is on the ballot or because you write it in, you are actually voting for them. And just because it is impossible for anyone working within the system, to change the system, doesn't mean that you aren't free to believe otherwise. And to blame the person for selling out, when their promises don't come true, rather than blaming the system for ensuring that change cannot occur.

You cannot currently send a star to Marian because you have done so within the last week.

PS, the U.S. "founding fathers" were a bunch of extreme racists and sexists. They were an elite group of all white men who got rich off the labour of others. Many of them kept African people as slaves. All of the founding fathers agreed, by their participation in the writing of the constitution, to make the indefensible abomination that is slavery be a legal system in the U.S.A. - officially endorsing the holocaust of millions of African people who were kidnapped and shackled in transport ships in which so many people died.
The "founding fathers" founded a nation on the stolen land of Indigenous people who they massacred, playing their part in hundreds of years of holocaust in North America. And when it came to voting, the "founding fathers" refused to give the vote to African American men and all women of whatever ethnicity.
Yes, the founding fathers were the 18th century version of a bunch of fascists - and admiring them is like admiring Hitler and his henchmen.
Well, on Care2's behalf, they truly have been experiencing problems with "disappearing posts" (both in groups and news) over the past month or so.
As a result, censorship was a possible consideration -- however, they have stated that no posts (at least within the past few days) were a result of their intervention and removal.

Excuse my ignorance, but i am fairly unfamiliar with Ron Paul.I have now got up to speed a little..and I can't quite see what all the fuss is about. His economic policies, appear to be very neo-liberal..and based on a "free market",which inevitably favours the rich and powerful.
What will he do to improve the wages of the workers. What will he do,to improve the "rich take all" health system? Can he help those who need a socialised health system?
It is appealing,to reject the two tired, and failed parties, but there must be a good reason why Ron Paul joined, and remains in the Republican Party..Being a Republican isn't a very promising place to start.
The small government Paul endorses, has in the past, been code for deregulation (something that Murdoch would endorse, for instance). It has also meant, reductions in necessary health and safety legislation, attacks on unions, reduced welfare payments etc..and fundamentally preserves and enhances the power of the have's..not the have nots.
Can someone illuminate me,as to how Paul's economic policies differ from Thatcher/Reagan..who presided over a huge distribution of wealth and power to the rich and powerful?
Socially and internationally,I would favour this guy over McCain,or Barack Obama.Economically he raises my anxiety levels.I wonder,if out of desperation, many radicals, might be supporting, someone who could turn out to be,their worst nightmare.
When you live in a country where you learn, almost daily, that -- pretty much all the history taught to you, the information released by your government regarding its decisions, the news presented by corporate media -- are all manipulative lies . . . you become distrustful of those in authority.
Frankly, I am a "conspiracy theorist" -- and PROUD OF IT! If not for people questioning these things, the truth would NEVER come out and we would ALL be "sheeples."
