Humans and great white sharks have experienced multiple close encounters this summer. Our presence in the water, shark migration patterns, and "chumming" (attracting sharks with bait) help to explain the incidents.

I was surprised that shark survived the landing on the boat and subsequent thrashing around...they were in a area where there are great whites and they were studying them, so I dont know if it was such a strange thing.,..maybe there are more people out there studying them and watching them than there used to be...
thanks Suzane for the interesting theory.
