The developers of a proposed hydroelectric dam project in Chile's pristine Patagonia region are racing to win approval for their reckless and destructive scheme. We need your immediate action to help stop this attack on wild Patagonia.

Within days, the Chilean government could decide whether to allow this multi-billion- dollar proposal to move forward -- or stop it in its tracks.

Please take action and urge Chilean officials to abide by international standards and demand a thorough analysis of the project's grim environmental toll.

The HidroAysén mega-dam project would flood thousands of acres of wildlife habitat and lay waste to one of the world's last truly unspoiled places.

Yet HidroAysén has refused to review thoroughly the environmental risks and staggering costs of the plan -- spurring a powerful outcry from state agencies in Chile and concerned citizens globally.

A study initiated and supported by NRDC has shown that the dams aren't even necessary: Chile has more than enough existing and approved capacity to meet its energy needs through 2025.

Please take action right now and tell the Chilean government to reject HidroAysén's incomplete analysis of its project's environmental impacts.

Dam I hate Dams....LOL Really I do....Thank you for urging the Chilean government to reject HidroAysén’s faulty assessment of its massive dam project and to ensure an effective review process moving forward.
