Trevor Phillips, chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said the fact that the gang of nine men convicted of abusing girls as young as 13 were Asian and their victims white must not be ignored. He said it would be a "national scandal"

I am amazed that the race relations board considers an act by a coloured person against a white person racist!

When a country abrogates its duty to protect the young and elderly from those who would prey on them for political reasons, that country is already sunk. The UK needs to stop enabling this type of abuse. These guys look like poster men for the criminally miscegenated.

Correction, these guys look like advertisements of why marrying and breeding with 1st cousins should be illegal.

"...And following the trial at Liverpool Crown Court, Greater Manchester Police’s Assistant Chief Constable Steve Heywood, said: “It just happens that in this particular area and time, the demographics were that these were Asian men.

"However, in large parts of the country we are seeing on-street grooming, child sexual exploitation happening in each of our towns and it isn't about a race issue.” (from the article)

This is indeed a criminal issue first and above all other considerations.

These zombies look as if their heads are on spikes - which would not be a bad idea. Soulless monsters is what they are. Thank goodness Trevor Phillips showed commonsense in his summing up. Thanks Beatrice.

The criminals were from Pakistan, except for one, who was from Afganistan. Why call them Asians?

White people can be victims because of their race just as other races. No one is immune to crime!!

It didn't take long for the Muslim and immigrant haters to come out onto the thread, did it?

In the meantime, what Philips seems to be saying is "If...".

John I agree with you about the mouslim and immigrant haters and have found some of the comments shocking.
But I find it equally shocking that these children were initially refused a fair inquiry
. All people in the UK should be equally protected, all individuals should have the right of protection from sexual abuse be it from priests, pimps, fathers, taxi drivers, teachers, brothers, take away owners,
No matter the age, sex, cuture, or position in society of the abuser or the abused the abuse must be stopped and the abused protected.
Once political correctness or undue influence prevents this then society becomes very insecure.

"a coloured person"

Just to highlight where she is coming from. What a disgraceful usage of language. In another thread, she used the words " a white woman who married a Muslim man", as if Muslims can't be "white". Repulsive views and repulsive racism.

OK, I am confused! Being Muslim or from Pakistan or Afghanistan is not being Asian, Black or any other type coloured person. To me it seems that the whole 'coloured person' flap is a an attempt to portray all 'persons' of this ilk as never being 'white'. This kind of crap never seems to come up when it is 'White Christian Men' trafficking in or just serial sexual abuse of women from other nations. And I know that I have heard nothing like this leveled against the Repug/Ta Bagged in the US Congress while they are trying to Amend VAWA so that abused foreign spouses will no longer have passport/visa anonymity meaning that their abusive American spouses will be notified about any attempt of the woman to flee the relationship.

Lloyd

The professional Islamophobes at Care2 care not a tittle about the girls who were allegedly groomed and/or abused. They use this sort of story to spew out their venemous hatred of Muslims and "coloureds" and try to make their prejudices sound reasonable and grounded in actual events. Of COURSE they never comment on threads or stories when it's "white" people committing crimes. That would never fit their hate-filled agenda.

This is DISGUSTING and must be stopped...NOW!

Also disgusting is the "political correctness" which asks us to IGNORE aspects of the criminals' agenda.

LLOYD...."Asian" is the "politically correct" term used in parts of Europe when the press is too intimidated to use the term MUSLIM when it's appropriate. Heaven FORFEND someone should be slapped with the ridiculous "islamophobic'' label!

As usual, certain elements here ignore the real crime/criminal element and attack those who want to discuss it.

It's part of DENIAL.....deflection.....and, insults to the questioner. We all know what that tactic is and how poorly it works. But, it gets attention, I suppose, even if it IS negative attention. Much like a two-year-old who uses bad words because he knows adults will pay attention.
