This is par for the course in most dysfunctional Third World countries like Pakistan. The problem lies with the naivety of wishy-washy western liberals who earnestly believe that all immigrants come to their countries in order to assimilate and embrace the Western democracy. Actually, in many cases the opposite is true and the “immigrants” turn out to be “colonists” who wish to impose their values upon the country that they have moved into.
