Kittens Used as Live Bait - 'Kite Fishing' American Rich Doing This!!

Animals  (tags: abuse, AnimalCruelty, animaladvocates, animalrights, animalwelfare, cruelty, death, killed, slaughter, suffering, abused, AnimalWelfare, cats, animalcruelty, animals )

- 3403 days ago -
Rich, arrogant traveling anglers are taking advantage of this surplus by using these helpless animals as live bait for sharks, blue marlin and tarpon. These sick individuals abuse cats and kittens for their own twisted amusement and calling it "sport".

I have posted this as a news story under 'World' category too. As many people as possible here at Care2 needs to see this!

Elm Morrison (357)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 4:57 am

These individuals are collecting cats and kittens from unscrupulous
animal shelters and/or dealers. The pay handsomely. They justify this
horror with the following claims:

‘I hate cats’
‘We are helping animal shelters to get rid of their surplus cats’

I do not know who to target in the USA to fight this abomination.
Care2 Readers – please post comments here – apart from the Humane Society
and notifying PETA, what can we actively do to stop this? Please help.

This is too horrific for words.

Thank you,
Eureka Morrison, South Africa

Care2 will not allow me to post this news twice - so this one will have to do - please help us find a way to deal with this horror - to stop it. These people are getting the cats and kittens from animal shelters - do these shelters hide behind a middle-man, or do they sell them outright, pocketing the money from their ill-gotten gains?

How do you police the animal shelter/pounds system in the USA? Since shelters can sell dogs to what your country describes as 'Class B dealers', how do your laws prevent kittens/cats from being sold for use as bait to anglers/fishermen?

Can some of the USA members please help us out here. What does your law in each state say about the 'sale' or 'give-away' of cats and kittens to middlemen. There must be an industry (black market) that handles this for the end user, i.e. the anglers. I cannot believe this is legal anywhere, but I may be wrong.

We've had a few notes on this, but no one in the USA has yet committed to investigation. Who here has contact with the Humane Society? Can you get some more information from them re the modus operandi of these bastards? There is no way they can get hold of these kittens without someone who has taken an oath to care for animals being complicit to this crime.

We will only stop this if the source dries up. That is the starting point.

Come on people - we do give a damn - let us work to eradicate this horror.

Elm Morrison (357)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 8:18 am
A petition is not the answer. First find out how they are getting the cats and kittens - who is helping them? Who are the middle men? When we know more - then we draw up a battle plan.

This is an organization in the U.S. that I think we should contact. I am surprised they limit the emails to site problems and donations but they have a fax machine. If those that have fax machines could send the pertinent details, the rest of us could follow-up with phone calls. They are involved in almost all areas of cat welfare. They may know something or be interested in investigating.

I also found this post by the Sea Shepherd:

€1,000 (Euros)
For the first successful conviction of a fisherman using a dog or cat as shark bait and €200 for each conviction thereafter
Dogs and cats are also involved in an assault on nature, this time as victims and as bait. On the French island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean, fishermen have been using live dogs and cats as bait for sharks.

This practice is specifically outlawed by French law but the law, as in many places throughout the world, is ignored by fishing communities who apparently believe they are above the law.

The dogs and cats have hooks passed through their snouts or through the tendons in their legs and the hooks are attached to lines and rods. The hapless animals are then tossed into the water where their struggles attract sharks.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has sent a message to the police in La Reunion offering a reward of €1,000 (Euros) for the first successful conviction of a fisherman using a dog or cat as bait and €200 for each conviction thereafter.

The following letter was sent to the Chief of Police on La Reunion Island:

To: The Police
La Reunion Island

The international Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is offering a reward of 200 Euros to any police officer who successfully enforces the law prohibiting the use of dogs and cats as bait for the catching of sharks.

The Society is offering a reward of 1,000 Euros for the first conviction and 200 Euros for each conviction thereafter.

The reward will be paid upon the successful conviction of any person found guilty of using dogs or cats as bait in shark fishing as defined by the laws of France that specifically outlaw this practice.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society wishes to advise all police captains that they may submit the names of officers who have arrested suspects for using dogs or cats as shark bait and that the reward will be paid directly to the officer or officers upon a successful conviction.

Hi Sue, maybe it is God's blessing that you can't watch the video. I screamed in anguish and burst into tears. There was no other information - the original video came from some news cast, and the commentator asked people to go to the site - whereto I've linked this story.

It is revolting - just as revolting as bull fighting. All for the pleasure of sadists, and labelled as 'sport'. I have to fight to control the killing urge in me - it blinds me completely.

The most despicable aspect though is that these animals are obtained from shelters! Never again will I think that anyone working at a shelter is an automatic saint. The video was taken during some fishing gala in South America - and the people on the boat were Americans - rich Americans!

Uuugghhh, here comes the anger again. Better say goodbye now and say a prayer.

There are 15 states currently that outlaw pound seizure/sale of animals to class B dealers. People need to get active....find out if there state is one (I reactivated that thread concerning this in my group Eureka) and state contacting your reps. Getting the laws changed is one way to solve the problem. Alley Cats is a good one....will email around as well. Thanks Eureka! Prayers for those poor kitties.

Sunday January 25, 2009, 10:55 am
there are many county shelters in the US who sell animals to Class B dealers who than sell to them to research labs and other horrible people. Many counties are fighting to have this changed but most still allow this horror. My county in 2008 stopped selling to class B dealers but til all shelters stop this horror will continue.
We need to really fight for our shelter animals to be protected from Class B dealers, I believe this is even more important than the
"no kill" issue right now.

Sunday January 25, 2009, 11:00 am
In Michigan there is only 3 or 4 couties that do not sell to Class B dealers. And right now there is no legislation to stop it. The only way to stop this for now is to contact your county shelter and tell them you are against this, they can choose to not to sell to class B dealers without a law being passed. Only poeple in the county the shelter is in can do anything about it, so check if your county sells or allows pound sieziers and contact them to stop allowing this horror.

Just forwarded this story to 200+ friends to also action. It's important that all our American friends in particular bring this horrendous cruelty to the Kittens, to the attention of their Government Representatives, local news media and the Rescue Centers and Shelters to get it stopped immediately!

Sue L (135)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 11:27 am
Yes, and didn't I just read that Michigan residents just lost in their efforts to get this stopped. Class B's are the big issue in the U.S. I'm not saying that U.S. are not finding their way into these operations but I really suspect that on this issue the animals are being obtained in foreign countries.

Sue L (135)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 11:35 am
So, I guess the question becomes where is this happening? Is it legal there? Thanks to Sea Shepherd we know of one place and then I read Venezuela. You could lobby for tourist boycott's in those countries. There may well be Americans participating in these activities just like we saw the British culling those elephants. As hard as it is to get things changed here it is even harder when it is a foreign government like Zimbabwe.

The HUGE issue for me in the U.S. are the Class B's. It was close to passing in the U.S. One congressman fought it and he has not been re-elected. If we can get this passed then it doesn't have to be fought county by county or state by state. Animals in U.S. shelters could not legally be sold.

This is beyond horrendous... inconceivable... I am in shock - the mere idea of the threefold torture of these defenseless animals... kittens....

And now the penny seems to drop: my comment to the posting of "Charity Workers Want Youngsters to Learn Respect for Animals" was:"
Thursday January 15, 2009, 11:46 am
The photo was taken by a friend of mine who discovered this drowned cat in a fountain. Fishing gut was tied tightly around its body, which raised our concerns that it was not by accident. A fishing hook was also embedded in its body.

I pray that it was only a singular incident, or else it could be happening in the UAE as well where there are no mercy for strays. In the UAE strays are cullled in a campaign to control their numbers.

To get back to this posted video (thank you Eureka for bringing it to our attention) wouldn't it help if the public is made aware of this via news media? Do they know what is going on? Surely there would be a huge outcry!

Sunday January 25, 2009, 12:58 pm
Patricia, do you realise that "Snopes" is a mom & pop operation? And that some of their so-called findings have been totally disproved!
Their article on this issue neither denies nor confirms this practise. What I find reprehensible is the implication that it is not too 'bad' because if it is true, it is only happening on a very small scale!!

Dear God in heaven, on what scale must attrocities like this exist before it is 'too much'????

A reputable organisation like 'Sea Shephard' has also slammed this practise. Whether it is done by ignorant superstitious backwards, neanderthalistic fools or whether by rich tourist makes not a pot of difference to the issue.

It is a disgrace - an abomination in the eyes of God and any human being who still has respect for sentient beings.

To post a link here to any other 'input' and 'opinions' is your right, I just wonder why you post a link to a crack-pot internet website that has already been exposed as inauthentic in the past.

Just one kitten or dog on a hook is more than enough!!!

Elm Morrison (357)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 1:02 pm
Anne, thanks for the link to the petition, but the target is 'no-one'. We must have a target - i.e. go to the source of the problem. Who is supplying the fishermen with the cats/dogs? Who can stop them doing this?

A petition without an actionable result will mean nothing concrete. I applaud them starting a petition - but it can't just be up in the air!

I am totally against this horror. It is so dishonorable, and in fact betrayal unto our own kind. They forget that man and cat are both red, warm blooded mammals, and not fish. The ocean is not a natural place where a cat would ever go. Cats have trusted us and served us as people for centuries. These people when convicted should be taken fed to the lions at the zoo. As for the time being, yes people that feel called should do what they can to work for accountability in their local areas. At least in the USA, I am sure the coastal regions are the areas that are most at risk, so people in those areas ought to be getting informed. Fishers that ever talk about doing this should be shunned by their relatives and community. As for foreign waters, I guess there is only so much that can be done. Prayer I am sure helps. But to eliminate this practice through this forum, I believe has only initially a nominal impact. This is a big world, and if people evil in their hearts are intent on doing this, it will continue to happen on a small scale. The open ocean is a pretty big place and impossible to "regulate". Then we have foreign lands where the peoples there have no qualms with these practices as they already use pets as food for themselves. Fortunately there is such a thing as karma, and these soulless ones will be paying the ultimate price. Above someone suggested paying state officials in a foreign land a premium on locating and arresting the fisher-cowards. I think that is a good start. These ghouls need to know that what they are doing is unlawful and that they are risking prosecution. Way to go Sue for the posting on Sea Shepherds. Contact your local humane society and get the issue out there. The more awareness there is about any of these things, the better. There ought to be some folks to get together and form some new political action committees.

June thank you. And thank you to everyone else who is doing something concrete about this. We may be a small number of activists here at Care2 (where are the rest of the 79 000 odd members who have listed 'animal abuse' as one of their causes) but we are a voice for that poor kitten baited and hooked and thrown overboard to attract the bastards who were fishing.

A dear friend of mine here at Care2 has gone to pieces completely after watching this video. My prayers are with her - she is one of the greatest animal activists here at Care2. Please send her your love and strength. While she recovers, let us carry the flag for her.

If those 'missing' 79 000 odd Care2 members who list animal abuse as a cause joined in fighting the many issues of animal abuse the world would change rapidly. Viral networking WORKS! Imagine the spin off from 79 000 voices shouting, writing, doing. Anything but sit on our backsides waiting for providence!

John, the original link was on a reputable news site. This is not a hoax - it has been documented before. If only it was a hoax my friend, if only. But it is not. Oh the horror of it all.

And even if it did help sell TShirts, I hope the funds would be used to expand awareness. I carry the cost of two websites - both about animal welfare - and I'm not some rich company. If someone said to me, let me sell some TShirts at your site and you get part of the profit, I would say yes before you can blink. Right now I'm trying to raise money for an SQL database developer, because my sites need this technology. Bless these souls for putting up a site for awareness - TShirt sales or no TShirt sales. Commerce and donations drive animal activists. Money helps, so I for one would not slam the sale of a few TShirts....

beware of people who hate cats. remember what the cat represents: self-esteem and autonomy. anyone who hates cats has control issues. women especially, beware of "men" who hate cats and give these "men" a wide birth. sooner than later cat-haters manifest their issues ~

i have seen a bumper sticker in ohio: "i love cats," underneath it says, "dead ones." avoid these people, for they will make your life a living hell. they value shock and control and have no concern that they hurt not only cats, but people ~

some famous cat-haters: napoleon, stalin, mussolini, hitler. a few famous cat-lovers: mark twain, abraham lincoln, thomas jefferson, cardinal richelieu. there's a powerful message here. it's simple psychology ~

these fishermen should be skewered by their own hooks ~

Pamylle, yes, all life is sacred. I have raved for years about people fishing and I've gotten nowhere. PETA's idea of renaming fish to: sea kittens has a lot of merit. Some people think it is just another publicity stunt - but I will accept and participate in any stunt if it works towards stopping the killing. And for those who don't know: fish are sentient beings - this has been scientifically proven. Just because it does not make a 'sound' that you can hear does not mean there is no emotion.

I can't watch the video again - but from what I remember the name of the boat was not visible.

I urge the film maker to come forward and name these bastards. He can do so without revealing his identity.

Pearl read and noted (69).Was unable to view video. Imagine if the images made us feel squeamish how horrific it was for the kittens to be used in this way. Don't people consider that to use any animal as live bait is tantamount to murdering these defenceless animals. If one of their beloved pets was used in this way; how would they feel. The fact that the kittens were abandoned dosen't make their lives less valuable. Life is Life and should not be destroyed for any reason.

I am literally sick. I could not watch the whole video. I had to stop it- to throw up!!! I am just torn apart by this. Animal cruelty comes in all forms. You can read about- hear about it but when someone actually makes a video of it- it is embbed in your head and heart.

Over the past months I have seen many horrific things done against humans and animals. My spirit is broken time and time again by people I deem not even human. This story was the end of me. I cannot even convey what I feel. For there are no words. This world is so full of hatred and abuse-it is sickening...

I offer any support needed. As I sit here now. I look at my two cats- and I am overwelmed with tears that any animal used as bait is a direct attack against God himself.. I prey with all my heart -that these bastards meet a ruthless and painful death. I wish it would be by the very sharks they feed.

I am sorry but I cannot comment any further for I would be banned of this network.. From a very broken heart and soul. Thankyou Eureka for posting

I don't understand why someone would post this video and not give any more clues as to who is involved in the particular incident. Wish we had an email for the police department that is supposed to be enforcing the laws. I have a feeling they are as bad as Aruba.

Sue L (135)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 6:31 pm
This was my email, but I would like to see some of yours. If I like them better, I'll incorporate those ideas next time.

Dear Sir:

I am outraged over information posted by Captain Watson of the Sea Shepherd Society which showed a dog with a hook through its nose being used as bait for sharks and marlins. I am asking that this be stopped immediately. There is also a video circulating on the Internet showing the use of kittens in this barbaric practice as well. Please be advised that I will do everything in my power to stop tourism to your island and to seek justice for these poor animals. It is unconscionable that civilized people are turning a blind eye to this practice and abuse.

Do not think for a second that this terrible story is not going to get international coverage. If you value your business, you will take an active part in seeing that this is stopped and that fisherman disregarding the law prohibiting this practice are arrested and convicted. You most assuredly will not engage in it yourself

Bronwyn H (228)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 6:54 pm

Whilst as Sue has rightfully written above, The Sea Shepherd has taken action against Dogs and Cats being used as Bait for sharks, by the fishermen on the French island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean.

I note that The Humane Society of the United States, PETA or Sea Shepherd do not have anything relating to this PARTICULAR story on their websites. I've written to PETA and I'm waiting on their reply.

As a member and supporter of these three organizations, the Sea Shepherd article (August 2008) is the only one I received notification of.

This current story has set me wondering; and after much more research I'm now concerned that this particular video and story might indeed be a scam, (the 'reporter/sea captain' does not give his name and is wearing dark glasses, there's no identification of anyone or boat/s, etc, the poor kitten that is shown supposedly having the large hook inserted does not show any signs of bleeding, and the web page has spelling errors, including Human Society of America, instead of the correct Humane Society of America).

Then if you click on the tab to buy a 'T' shirt you will also find that they are not a 'NOT' but a 'FOR' profit organization!!!

Copy from their web site:
We are a for-profit Florida Corporation. We are promoting awareness of animal abuse and our donations to these four established charities will be used as the individual organizations choose.

RETURN POLICY: If you are not happy with your purchase, you may return it to us within 30 days for a refund. Return shipping will be the responsibilty of the purchaser.

CONTACT GRADY WARREN AT: or (904) 401-9373

Save Our Cats And Kittens From Fishermen Society * c/o The UPS Store * 3832 Baymeadows Road * Jacksonville, FL 32217

So it appears the only action they are taking to save the Kittens is to sell the 'T' shirts, as to whether the charities they list actually receive their donations???

As much as I deplore scams and the people responsible for causing such concern and immense sadness, I hope for the sake of the Kittens that this story is one!

uugghhh, Why would people do this? If this is a scam then it takes away from other true causes. I wrote to the Sea Shepard to see what they have to say since they have it posted on their website. Dont get me wrong, I would rather this BE a scam and not be true or be happening.

Hi Sue
Yes, I agree to keep up the writing on the True story that came from Sea Shepherd.

I wasn't able to see your posts just above my last one until I had completed my lengthy one and posted it, so I didn't have all your info.

This particular one though has raised my concerns as to its authenticity, especially as there is no reference to it anywhere on the Humane Society, PETA or Sea Shepherd Web sites. Also checking on Google brings up info that it's a scam.

Save Our Cats And Kittens From Fishermen: Or How To Make Lots Of Money Online

by Vito Rispo

Apparently, all you have to do to make money online is invent a fake, but morally reprehensible, tragedy, put together a video about said tragedy, then sell t-shirts.
Oh, I almost forgot… then PROFIT.

The Save Our Cats and Kittens From Fishermen (SOCKFF) video has been making the rounds of the blogosphere for a while now, and still, not many people have called shenanigans on it. That amazes me. This video is obviously fake. It has zero evidence of it’s claim, it doesn’t show any cats being eaten by sharks, it doesn’t show any cats being pierced with hooks (although a gloved man pretends to), it doesn’t show anything really. It only shows black cats supposedly dangling from a hook, and a gloved man pretending to hook a kitten but blocking the camera’s view at the last second. Take a look at the cat dangling frame:

Evil people making money out of good people who have compassion for animals.

This is horrific. Absolutely horrific. I hope every so-called human who participates in this or is the cause of it happening has their evil actions turned back against them for the rest of their lives and for eternity. There is no excuse for cruelty like this. Cruelty to animals, including wildlife, is one reason I turned against Sarah Palin. Last June she ordered the shooting deaths of a wolf pack (far from civilization) and also had 15 baby wolf pups (a month old) dragged out of their den and shot in their head. (Killing nursing mothers and their pups is against Alaskan law, but she had it done anyway). Aerial hunting (where rich "hunters" chase a wolf down by plane until it collapses and then they shoot it..if you can watch that video) is another cruel, horrendous act. I hope something can be done to stop this kind of barbaric cruelty and torture to both wild and domestic animals. I sure would like to know who that idiot ex-congressman was who blocked that law from passing. Thank God he lost! I hope he never gets a foothold in politics again and the same should be said for Palin!

This has been a very strange day. I spent nearly the entire day on this because it made me crazy. Here is what I discovered. I work-not for the Humane Society but with a very large fostering group in the midwest. They go to all the shelters and collect the animals that have no time left on the clock-foster them out and get them homes...and Humane Society didn't know what I was talking about.

So here is what I uncovered today-and it took some time because my computer wasn't running up to par.

THIS COMES FROM THE SUN UK-(and these are my notes) I thought there was something strange about the website that was put up in here---that the original message went to-it said Human Society (not Humane Society) and so I went to Pacelle to his blog and the site to search for "Kittens Used For Fishing" and various other arrangements-nothing came up at the Humane Society so I called my connection to the fostering group and she called the Humane Society-they knew nothing-so I went to Live Leak which led to this. It took a good half hour just to track this down. There was a lot of conjecture there about it being Photoshopped at Live Leak.

I couldn't get the video that accompanied the original site to play. I tried over and over again.I don't have dial up-I have the fastest internet available... So according to the Humane Society they didn't know anything about it. So it is not something happening in the US as far as I could see- it's in the Indian Ocean.

We had something like this happen years ago in Florida with yee-hahs in the Everglades trolling for Alligator with kittens. When my mother and I found out we organized an attack on them through Letters To The Editor in the Fort Laud. paper. We also had 200 angry people in the Everglades at the air boats.

This is the text from the SUN-I couldn't take everything because I couldn't cut it loose from the ads. It's not kittens alone but puppies and dogs and I, would imagine, cats. For now, I think, we have to be looking for an update from the Sun newspaper...If I get more, you'll get it

Raffi LidoRoiz (301)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 8:47 pm

Sorry-I'm tired-here's the text from UK SUN

STRAY dogs are being skewered on hooks and dragged behind boats as live shark bait, The Sun can shockingly reveal. The cruel practice takes place on French-controlled Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, where Prince William spent two holidays.

A six-month-old labrador pup was recently found ALIVE with a huge double hook through its snout - like the dog above - and another through a leg.

The pup was found in a coastal creek and is thought to have somehow freed itself from a fishing line.

But other dogs and kittens have been chomped up and swallowed by sharks.

The RSPCA plans to petition the French government, demanding an end to the hideous torture.

When I did talk to my girlfriend after she spoke to her friend at the Humane Society she did tell me-she says," tell you that you should not be surprised by anything-people are taking out their rage at the present world situation on animals as never before."

If I find anything else I will get it to you-

Yes, that's so Christian and it's the KITTENS story that has been shown to be a scam.
It has been on the Internet for awhile, originally apparently it started as Dogs and Cats and now the it's the Kittens.

Below is a copy from Eureka's earlier post above:
Sunday January 25, 2009, 2:27 pm
Paula, thank you, thank you. Bravo for taking the initiative. And to the captain Paul of Sea Shepherd: YOU ARE MY HERO!!

Eureka is a committed activist for ALL species just as I am, and I find your comments you posted above offensive. I take it you were referring to Sue and myself! It's not about ego or control, as you're stating, it's about helping and saving animals where there is a genuine need. The animals are precious and so is the time we have available to us to help them; we have to utilize it to its maximum effectiveness. Genuine animal activists don't just write a few lines here for a post, for as you say, their ego and control, they actually take ACTION where ever necessary to make this a kinder world for animals.

If you worked on campaigns with Eureka you would be aware that she encourages regular comments on her news posts to keep the story 'in the news' for maximum attention.

All we are trying to do is separate the wheat from the chaff and focus our energies on what is true. If I for one am going down a rabbit trail, I want someone to kindly point it out to me. And that is all Bronwyn is trying to do. And if there is any truth to this, we want to figure out our best options for getting it to stop for both Canines and Felines. It does not help us as animal activists to be circulating information that is not true. That hurts our cause and I thank Bronwyn for voicing her concerns

I think the emails we have sent to the French Island of Reunion are okay, because they are backed up by other evidence and the issue apparently has been addressed by RSPCA to the French Government.

Raffi LidoRoiz (301)
Sunday January 25, 2009, 10:01 pm

Near as I can figure out this is true in La Reunion but not in the United States. This seems to be a case of a lot of confusion because it is true but it was vague and it was hard to determine what it really was. Please read this petition it mentions several references to publications and to MSNBC so this is validated...

We endorse the End the Use of Animals as Shark Bait Petition to French and La Reunion Island officials. To: French and La Reunion Island officials

“Mankind’s true test, its fundamental test (which lies deeply buried from view), consists of its attitudes towards those who are at its mercy: animals.” Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

Recently we witnessed thousands of animals abandoned and stranded in New Orleans due to an unavoidable natural disaster, and thankfully we have also seen a great outpouring of relief efforts on behalf of those animals. What is described below is not a natural disaster, but a man-made one that should disgust and outrage you.

Various websites describe French-governed La Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean as a virtual paradise offering dramatic mountain scenery, jagged peaks, sheer cliffs, waterfalls, gorgeous gardens, and fragrant spice farms. La Reunion's lagoons are small and shallow, and the island's beautiful beaches and clear waters are suitable for basking as well as swimming and diving. But what the tourism websites don't tell you, and what The Sun (London's newspaper) and other reputable newspapers have recently unveiled, is that fishermen on La Reunion have been using live dogs and cats as bait for sharks. (You can find The Sun article at,,2-2005450292,00.html. Patti Davis’s Newsweek article is at and if you go to you can find links to both their Aug. 18, 2005 and Sept. 29, 2005 articles. Be forewarned that the photos accompanying these articles are graphic and disturbing.)

While this practice is specifically outlawed by French law, the law has been ignored by certain fishing communities. Fishermen take hooks and pass them through the snouts or leg tendons of the dogs and cats. They attach these hooks to lines and rods. Then, the young animals are tossed into the water to struggle helplessly to get free. The struggle and the smell of blood attracts sharks.

On August 18th, 2005 Sea Shepherd Conservation Society posted a reward for the arrest on La Reunion Island of anyone responsible for using live dogs or cats as bait for sharks. At least one violator has already been charged and appeared in court on September 30th.

We have created this online petition to inform La Reunion Island's officials that this inhuman behavior is appalling and to urge them to put an immediate end to the public mutilation of these dogs and cats. We have read that the gap in La Reunion between the well-off and the poor is extraordinary and accounts for persistent social tensions and a nearly 33% unemployment rate. The economic well-being of La Reunion depends heavily on continued financial assistance from France, and we will send this petition to officials in France as well.

You might wonder if this is another hoax... but it is not. investigated this in early October of this year to determine if this was a hoax or urban myth. Here is a link to their finding... While intelligent people shouldn't believe everything they read on the internet, this investigation points out that a recent La Reunion newspaper article acknowledges that the practice does happen and reported the recent prosecution of a deliveryman (and amateur fisherman) on that island over animal cruelty charges associated with the described activity. That article notes that employing dogs in shark-fishing is largely the province of a small group of amateur fisherman rather than large numbers of professionals, that the dogs used are "generally" dead animals picked up from roadsides or culled from the island's large population of unwanted strays (estimated at 150,000), and that the animals are attached to unattended buoyed "shark trap" platforms rather than dragged alive behind boats. Whether the practice is widespread or limited to only a small number of fisherman using only a small number of victims is irrelevant: the fact that it happens at all, to even one animal, is intolerable.

The article also included the French Embassy response, which maintains that the practice is not unknown, but its occurrence and acceptance is not nearly as prevalent as recent news reports would make it seem. Here is the link to another urban legends website, which also found that there was truth to the story and that this is not an isolated incident.

Milan Kundera wrote in The Unbearable Lightness of Being that “[m]ankind’s true test, its fundamental test (which lies deeply buried from view), consists of its attitudes towards those who are at its mercy: animals.” We urge you, by signing this petition, to help us let officials in La Reunion and in France know that they are failing this test. We hope that hundreds, and even thousands, of signatures on this petition will be the voice for those voiceless animals that cannot advocate for themselves. And that even if this practice is not widespread or prevalent, the impact of so many voices will convince officials that even isolated instances are unacceptable and must be taken seriously and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
If you want to contact officials yourself, contact information is below.

Christian, with respect I said "I take it you were referring to Sue and myself!"

I'm not challenging your work for animals, so why did you challenge mine and 'the somebody else' as you referred too with a personal attack by saying:

Just Because A Few Ego's Change The Bloody Story To Dogs Is Irelevant.
Yes Beware Of Control Freaks:

My comments in any of my postings have been out of concern for the Kittens firstly, then having become aware that, this KITTENS USED FOR LIVE BAIT story circulating on the Internet showed it to be a scam, backed up by the fact that there is not any reference to it on the Humane Society's, PETA's or Sea Shepherd's web sites. Plus the Save our Cats and Kittens Society From Fishermen, web site that has the video appears dodgy, as I mentioned in more detail in my above postings.

Surely you would want to have it brought to your attention if there was a concern about the authenticity of this or any other story. Then at least we are in a position to research and judge it for ourselves.

I could have taken the EASY PATH and not researched it further and not alerted anyone when I became aware of the fact it could be a scam.

And if I'm wrong about this scam then I apologize, but if I'm right, then that's great news for the Kittens and animal activists and we can concentrate on other needy causes.

You'll also find others have now found it to be a scam.

Kudos to ALL that fight the good fight.
I'm sorry as I am not online as much as woulod like lately,
but life is really stepping in a keeping busy where I need to be.

The human species continue to wreck havoc and destruction of innocent animals so much anymore that I begin to wonder if humanity has just plain been really gone mad. That any human caneven think to do these horrible acts sickens me to my soul. Fishing taken to a whole new level. The level of sociopathic behavior. This is behavior and actions that seriel killers engage in. Behavior like this esculates (spelling?) acts that I don't even want to contemplate. Just when you think humans cannot sink any lower...
That this may be a hoax still comes from human actions that even conceive such horrible ideas is sick..sick..sick.

Bronwyn....I called this Grady guy (since I live here in Jacksonville) and I left him a message. Its appears to be a cell phone. I can also go by this establishment this evening and find out exactly what they are trying to do. I let our deputy Sheriff here that lives in our complex take down the info as well and he'll do some checking on his own) So if it is a scam, maybe it can be shut down before too many people donate to such a cause. Sounds to me like they are trying to sell T shirts and not help animals. Also sent their website link to the AR group here in FL. Maybe they can look into it.

I've sent off emails to the French government after googling info and found about the same thing everyone else here has found. It sounds like its not happening in the US at all. But we still have the problem with class B dealers.....EVERYONE in the US needs to their local shelters/animal control and find out what their laws are concerning Class B dealers/pound seizures. Then start sending off letters/petitions/make phone calls/put in letters to the editor of your local papers. While the shelter here is a no kill and does not support class B dealers....the surrounding counties have the choices of whether or not to sell as such. Its not just a state by state thing, but a county/city by county/city thing.

Thanks everyone for all the info and togetherness of helping to save these kittens from such torture. You all ROCK!

Oh Lord, if the video of the kittens is a scam, I'm grateful. That said, this story has brought back the issue about class B dealers right into the spotllight. We can take the good from this story - and not consider a second wasted if it alerted all of us to again tackle the issue of Class B dealers.

When I said Captain Paul of Sea Shepherd is my hero I meant it in the context of his fight against the use of live animals as bait, be it cat, kitten or dog. He fights for all living creatures, and for that I applaud him.

I have already - a long time agao - signed the petition against the use of dogs as bait.

All I can say about the scum who faked a video of unspeakable horror - the kitten in the bucket of water seems real enough. That in and by itself is despicable. I will ask all my facebook friends and myspace to highlight this website "To be avoided at all costs".

I thank everyone here for digging for the truth. And for the USA citizens now making it their life's mission to outlaw class B dealers - you are blessed, truly.

And lastly - if anyone here feels their time has been misused and abused by me - my sincerest apologies.

Finally, let us not attack one another - we are all here for the same reason - and that is to be a voice for the voiceless. We each have our own talents, our own belief systems. Let us respect each other and love each other. A divided house falls pretty quickly - and we don't want that, do we?

I love you all, I respect you all and I appreciate you all.

God bless, Eureka xxxx

Original Message:

There seems to have been a great deal of confusion over the kittens as shark bait story-and there was none more confused than I was...but the fact is it appears to be true in La Reunion Islands in the Indian Ocean and not in the United States. I spoke to someone at the Humane Society today and will again tomorrow and a friend of mine is good friends with someone high up in that organization and although, I do not trust the Humane Society implicitly, I could find nothing connecting this to United States.

However, the tragedy is taking place in La Reunion Islands according to everything I could discern and I have found a petition that I just signed and I would appreciate it if you would sign it too.

There are three issues that have really commandeered my heart and taken hold (not that every issue is not vitally important) that we have been looking at these last several days-One is Tony the Tiger-which I hope to get an update on sometime soon and Sammy, of course, and this...and if what led to this discovery was brought about by a hoax in the United States, and it appears to have been...then let us make the very best of it by signing this petition -which seems to have been crying out for attention for what really is happening to our cats and dogs.

Please do not let these cries go unheard...whether they are in your country, my country or anywhere in the world.

Keep sending this out-don't let anyone miss the opportunity to peruse and sign this document. These animals are far far away from all of us but they wanted us to hear them and so I believe, sincerely, that the incident that took place today was their way of getting the message to us.

Love and thanks-Raffi

ALERT ! That site is a hoax. It is probably the man talking that did that to the kittens. It is all a scam to raise money. Do you really think the HSUS or PETA would let some other group use them on their web site to raise money to donate to them, rather than having the whole story on their own site??? Do NOT DONATE TO THIS SCAM. I have reported this to Snopes, HSUS, and PETA

Well, while we are somewhat on the subject of Class B Dealers I made a phone call to Congressman Michael Doyle's office in Pennsylvania today. He had introduced the bill as H.R. 1280 Pet Safety and Protection Act in 2007. There is a long history on trying to get this legislation passed. Usually when you call a congressman's office the only person you get to talk to is an aide or staffer but he actually came on the phone. He said he had been working to get this passed for seven years. In the recent Congress this bill was put in with a larger Farm bill in an effort to get it passed. I asked him about the congressman who had blocked the bill and said I understood he did not retain his seat. He said that was not true, Congressman Harken is still there. The long and short of it is, he will eventually reintroduce the bill but he is going to almost act as his own staffer in getting the support up front for the bill to pass. I mentioned that it showed there were 130 cosponsors of this bill, therefore, the bill seemed to have good support from other Congressman. His reply was very interesting and this is the part I want you to note. He stated that when the HSUS came out with its ranking of various Congressman and how they rated with regard to animal welfare issue, that that is when he got most of the cosponsors to the bill. My recommendation is get on the HSUS emails if you are not already on them. When the bill is reintroduced and it may be some time, they have the stimulus package on Wednesday, yadda yadda yadda,it is very important to be writing to your U.S. State Representative's and let them know that you are taking note of their ranking on Animal Welfare Issues and in paricular, when this legislation is introduced, that you want them to cosponsor the bills. HSUS is very good at notifying its supporters of important animal legislation that is being introduced. When they ask you to call or write it is important that you do.

I just did some research and it is Thomas Harkin (D) and he is a Senator in Iowa not a Congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is the one that blocked the bill.

It actually says this

This week the first violator was charged as a result of an effort by police to investigate the practice. The man will appear in court on September 30th. If convicted Sea Shepherd will pay the arresting officer the reward of €1,000. Sea Shepherd will pay €200 to the arresting officer for every successful conviction thereafter.

This is from PETA'S BLOG

PETA Admin

Thanks for posting about the about the dogs and cats who reportedly were being used as fishing bait on the island of Réunion. We share your concern about this horrendous cruelty.

PETA continues to monitor this situation, and there is some good news. According to the World Society for the Protection of Animals, the French minister for overseas territories visited Réunion in September 2005 to meet with the governor of the island to ensure that measures to prevent such barbaric practices are being put in place by Réunion authorities; the governor assured animal welfare groups that he condemns this cruel practice and announced that any dog or cat aboard a fishing vessel in Réunion waters registered with the municipal authorities will be confiscated.

Police have also been ordered to monitor and control these incidents, and the judiciary has been told to treat any offenses with the severest penalties. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society ( reports that the first violator has already been charged as a result of efforts by police to investigate the practice.

We encourage you to contact the minister and the governor to thank them for their actions. Encourage them to continue to extend enforcement of these measures:

This is outrageous - How can this be allowed in any country? This must be dealt with immediately and with firm action. I hope the concerned animal groups will act immediately. How about using SURPLUS human beings as shark bait, they have more blood than kittens. Animal Welfare Organizations must be informed of this malicious practice and they must be stopped immediately. Rather get some surplus humans out of jails or from the nomadic tribes in Africa and America, rather use brain damaged humans for shark bait, they are useless to the economies of countries because they demand attention 24/7/365, whereas as shark bait .... I leave the remainder to you.

Jennifer writes:

Kittens have feelings, worms don't have the neural complexity to understand what is going on. They feel pain, but their suffering is only a small fraction of the suffering of higher animals.

If you have to feed kittens, as I do, you get a different perspective. You are forced to engage in killing to feed, so you try to minimize the damage, and I do this by trying to understand the neurology behind the suffering.

I hope this helps, because it sounds as if you want to promote fishing with kittens.

Sue wrote: No. This is not a hoax!!!!!!! Go to the link I provided above at Sea Shepherd and look at the poor little dog with the hook through his nose!!!!!!!!!

The more I think about this, the more I think this site made the video (which I have not seen) and commited the crime to sell tee shirts.

That explains why they do not provide any further information -- they would go to prison.

Also, please not that PeTA runs the highest kill-rate animal shelter in the country, they are not pro-animal, only pro-PeTA. The president has admitted to killing thousands of homeless animals herself, and believes that animal are better off dead than trying to survive in the wild. She also openly supports animal terror, which by itself is the single worst thing that has happened to animals.

PeTA is aware that this knowledge is circulating. The organization has released information admits supports tp their killing, but they say also that if they are fully exposed, animals will suffer.

The truth about them, as a capital institution, is that if they are exposed some 20 millions in USD will be released for real programs.

Animal shelter
operations investigated
Citizen's committee to be appointed
Last Edited: Monday, 26 Jan 2009, 6:06 PM EST
Created On: Monday, 26 Jan 2009, 6:06 PM EST

MONTCALM, Mich. (WOOD) - Montcalm County commissioners will appoint a citizen's committee to study operations at the county animal shelter.

The decision came after a four-hour standing room only meeting.

Citizens voiced opposition to continuing a contract with an animal dealer who takes dogs from the shelter and sells them for research.

The contract with R&R Research is due to expire in two weeks.

The county will extend it for another six months while the committee works.

Message from PRM
It has just come to our attention that the National Institutes of Health (NIH), in conjunction with an animal research industry trade group, is providing false and misleading information about animal experiments to children.

Alarmingly, the NIH promotes, on its Web site, a children’s coloring book that gives a skewed view of animal experiments. The coloring book implies that researchers are trying to cure animals that are already sick—rather than purposely infecting them with diseases—and ignores the fact that animals suffer and die in the process. The coloring book, entitled The Lucky Puppy, was produced by an industry trade group, the North Carolina Association for Biomedical Research, whose members have a financial interest in the continuation of animal research.

The coloring book is available through the following link:

The book erroneously portrays the lives of animals in laboratories as pleasant and carefree. Published scientific research and numerous undercover investigations clearly demonstrate that animals in laboratories suffer pain and distress from experimental procedures and routine laboratory practices. The coloring book also makes misleading claims about the benefits of animal experiments, implying that research findings from experiments on animals are directly applicable to both the animals used in research and to humans.

Please call or e-mail Christine Bruske Flowers, director of the office of communications and public liaison for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, to politely ask her to remove the link to the coloring book from the Web site. Send an auotmatic e-mail now.

The word from my animal activist friends on myspace is that though the problem is real,, this seems to be a scam to (how low will some people sink) sell t-shirts:(

Hi Katty

We have looked at the page that is linked (saveourcatsfromfisherman) and we are not sure that this is a real story : we get the feeling that the video is made up and that it is only to get money from people who would buy a tshirt from them. Moreover, the webpage doesnt link to the human Society, nor desplays owner or group, not contact link.

Although the cat is in the water, anyone could make up such a video ? Unless we know WHO is making the video and the webpage ..

Paula, thank you so much for sending this to me. Ask Grady to give you facts and figures. We here at Care2 can make a difference - using our membership numbers.

What is 'cute' about his reply - is he does not deny or confirm the authenticity of this video! What he does say 'he has been filiming and noticed strange behaviour (abuse?) all over the show. He does not deny he wants to make money - which is okay (I have no problem with that), but his statement about passing it on to the big boys is very vague. Who is he passing it onto? Why does he not state that on his website? And if he is such a little guy (we are all little guys) why does he not clearly identify the 'big guys' that he is liaisoning with?

His reply is very, very vague. He may very well be honourable, but since all the 'big guys' have stated they are not in contact with him etc. he must now come clean.

Please inform him that we at Care2 will blacklist his website as fraudulent to the internet interpol authorities if he does not come clean with proof, names, dates, places of where the video was taken, as well as the names of the 'big guys' and their contact details, i.e. who is he talking with - so that we can verify his information.

I'm going to post my reply to you, plus the letter that you received from him on the thread. Will do it right now before I click on 'submit' here.

I have an incredible work load at the moment (have to learn brand new software and its relational database tables within a few days, as I'm doing the presentation to the South African, Western Cape, Cape Nature Conservation board next week Wednesday - and I'm the designated Project Leader for this project) and am dying from overwork. That is why I've changed my profile to 'Time off, do not contact'. This will only be until the end of next week. So everyone, please understand - I'm not dropping out!

Paula, thank you VERY MUCH for your efforts. Consider yourself hugged - big time. Lots of love, Eureka xxxx

Hi Eureka,

I received a letter back from Grady Warren. Remember him? Has anyone else and do you think I should post it? He is the guy with the t-shirt company that is FOR Profit.

Paula...Here it is

Dear Paula, I hope this finds you well. First, you can probably, quietly search around the captains in Key West and surrounding islands that will verify this behavior having gone on for years. Sad, but true. I have traveled with a camera crew for twenty years from Argentina to Oregon. And we have filmed some strange behavior. In fact, you really don't have to look very far to see abuse right here in the states. Also, I'm just one small individual that cannot do anything on my own to stop or expose this behavior, so, I'm just trying to raise a little money to give to the big boys that can make a difference. With kind regards, Grady

First, I find this video to be horrific. But.....I'm not sure it's authentic. The worst case is if it is real. Almost a bad would be that someone if profiting from selling T-shirts from a distasteful video.

Here is why I think it is fake: First, if the narrator "witnessed" and filmed this and if he was so appalled, then why did he do NOTHING? It's going to be his "mission" to track them down. No need, he already found them and knows who they were. Why didn't he call them out in the video by boat name rather than just naming a town in a foreign country? Why is there no live audio except the cats meowing in a bucket? Why is there no one on film saying "I hate cats" or "I'm doing the local shelter a favor"? It's all second hand accounts from a man who doesn't even identify himself in the video. Why is the boat with the pictures of a man lying on a marlin not the same boat as the guys giving high fives. The boat where the cats are being "hooked" is yet another boat. Why are the sharks in the water free swimming- not hooked? The cats and the sharks are never filmed in the water together. The reason is because they are just clips edited together to create a story.

There are two versions of this video on the net. It is the same narrator, but there are some different explanations. The one says the cats are "hooked" the other claims they use a line and hook it and the cat to keep it from coming off. The truth is if you really look closely, there is some slight of hand here. In shots that it looks like the cats are hanging, the mans hand never lets go of the cat. The shot where he is hooking the cat is conveniently shot at an angle where you never see the hook penetrate. He really hooks the black rubber-band to make it appear as though it is hooked. (maybe that's why the cats are all black- so you don't see it as well) If you look at the cat in the water, you can clearly see the entire hook. It is simply rubber-banded to the cat. A shark hook is BIG. Even if it just pennetrated the skin, the cat would have a reaction. There was not even a flinch.

A couple of other strange notes: What does Global warming and the cat population have to do with one another? Why does the narrator say in both videos that the people doing these trips are rich WHITE people? What the heck does race have to do with the story? Lastly, PETA's new fish campaign is calling fish "sea kittens" to develop a connection to humans. Is that just a strange coincidence?

So, before a campaign is started I think someone should verify the video's authenticity. It is my belief that someone or some organization is looking to profit from the sale of T-shirts and portray fisherman as "evil". Since there is little information on the website (Oddly the purchase a T-shirt option is very clear) here is some information on the domain name of the sight for someone to try and verify it's authenticity and get some real answers:

Bob, thanks for your comment - if you had checked the comments before you posted yours, you would have seen that Paula is in communication with the owner of the website. And just above your comment I already posted all the information on the website, which is obtainable via 'whois'.

Since most of us did not have the stomach to scrutinse the video frame by frame I applaud you for doing so. We have already come to the conclusion that the video is a fake.......

Despite the fact that the video appears to be a fake, it galvanised the activists here at Care2 to go hell for leather to put Class B animal dealers out of business. So it has not been a complete waste of time. In addtion it also created awareness (again) of the petition on the use of dogs as bait in the La Reunion Islands - and the first prosecution against a fisherman is now in progress.

So all in all - this 'fake' video has had a benefit on two other fronts.

FYI, the dogs as shark bait was written about in National geographic in 2005:

Experience Site's petition on the dogs:

Ad Savvy article on the kitten issue (I'm not sure who they are but found it in a search so sharing it here):

BTW, this was my share on the dog issue back in November:

One of the comments on the tiny url link is that the 'fake' video could encourage cruelty to animals. One just needs a psycho to try a copy-cat stunt. Is there no law in the USA that can prosecute Grady Warren for fraud?

I finally received a response back via email as well. Here it is:

Dear Dusty, thank you for your questions. The video was filmed in Venezuela in 2008. And all I'm trying to do is to raise some money to give to the Humane Society, SPCA and PETA to try and get them to look into this and see if something can be done about it. I have not gotten a response from the agencies yet. I guess I have to send money firts to get their attention.

With kind regards,

I sent him a few links to look at with regards to what Peta has (Sea kittens ) and a few others(Sea Shepherd) so that he can go see that people are aware of the issue.

You know Dusty, once again his answer is very vague. Why does he not come clean - who, what, where, when exactly. And why does his website not carry an official PETA logo or any official logo of other animal rescue sites? My animalsave website has a PETA logo, and I only received permission to use it, after they scrutinised my website. Permission was given to me by PETA Europe and they sent me the gif files. I know many people don't like PETA - all I'm trying to say here that if this man has a 'real' link with any of these organisations he would surely display their logos and backlink to their sites.

I think that after all is said and done, this man has done us all a favour (apologies to those who think their times was wasted) by raising awareness of the Class B dealers and the alert to the dogs used as bait petition and also to the good work Sea Shephard is doing about this very issue. Thank you all who are submitting details about the progress in their states about the proposed changes in the laws about Class B dealers etc.

Sometimes we take a path through the forest, only to find us wandering off on side trails - I think our side trails here have been worth it.

At one point I seriously considered leaving Care2 - due to the animosity that was voiced on this thread - and horrible personal messages to me. People bad mouthing each other is so non-productive. We forget the reason why we are members of Care2 and why we note news stories and sign petitions. I believe 'hoax' stories have been posted before and probably will be again in the future. If this happens, I would thank the person who posted it, be it hoax or not - for taking the time to set up a news story, for caring in the first place. We all lead very busy lives, and it is not always possible to search all over the net to check each story.

The initial URL of this story was actually on a news site! The commentary in the video led me to this URL. If a news site can be fooled, then please forgive me for being a fool as well.

Finally, I reiterate that this man should be prosecuted for false advertising, and faking a video to garner T-Shirt sales. He is totally unable or unwilling to disclose his correspondence with any agency to prove his link to them, as well as their blessing to air the 'video' to garner T-Shirt sales and give part of the profits as a donation.

I apologise for not being very active on this thread for the last week+, due to personal circumstances.

God bless everyone who cares, who acts to alleviate suffering.

PS. I'm against any kind of fishing, and against the use of any living thing being used as 'bait', be it worm, dog, cat or whatever....

I consider myself a peaceful person in most respects, but like Eureka I had to struggle within myself not to want to inflict serious violence on those fisherman. None of you want to know what I would do to them if it were in my power. I wish Obama and the U.S. Navy collectively cared as much about animals as the people on this site and just blast these pathetic scumbags clean out of the water. I am telling everyone I know. I'm also telling people in other organizations like Defenders of Wildlife and Alaska Wilderness whose main focus is not domestic animals in hope they will at least have enough compassion to help put an end to this dispicable horror. I sent an email to Dr.Phil who stated once on his show that he is very pro-animal welfare. I intend to write to Ophra. We need to tell everyone we can think of. I tend not to talk to strangers usually. But I'm even talking to strangers about it. We need to circulate petitions folks. We need to get in this for the long haul and fight like hell until this insanity ends!

The guy in the video is a sleaze! His name is Grady Warren(Google it), a known internet scammer doing this to make money. You can read about it here:

Apparently, he is trying to capitalize on the original story published in National Geographic about a similar practice going on on the French island of Réunion.I shared that back in November and here is that link:

Justice can not come soon enough or hard enough. I am not able to watch the video or there would be nothing left of my soul. This is horror at it's worst. :(:(:(

I cannot believe that any person can do such a horrible act to a sweet kitten. If those involved are found they need to be hung, disposed of from this planet to do no harm to any living creature in the future. I couldn't watch the video it would be with me forever it's difficult enough to just see the photo of the poor kitten and read about it. I SAY HANG THE BASTARDS THAT IS CAPABLE OF THIS CRUELTY

This is terrible!!! This is not a 'sport' nor 'entertainment'...! This is an expression of pure wickedness and human selfishness! The people who put kittens as live bait must be heartless!! I wonder if they are actually HUMANS!! How is it possible to be HUMAN and have no feelings, no conscience, no ethical principles, no love and compassion, no thoughts at all?!! The people who do such things are psychologically ill! They should be placed in a psychiatric clinic or be sent to prison, because they are dangerous for society! A person who does not have love and compassion for animals, which are INNOCENT, will certainly not have mercy on their fellow humans, who are IMPERFECT, either! Such people should not be allowed to carry on their cruel acts but they shoulod be punished severely so as not to repeat them!

these useless individuals need to die just like the little one's do and I for one would have no problem with it- ist thing would be to hook them thru their ball- then cut them xome for a blood flow- I really feel they should die- there are not words enough to describe what to do to cause their lingering alive for a long time before dieing- ONE DAY

As stated above, this is a HOAX! Google Grady Warren's name, there is plenty of evidence that this scum made up this video with slick editing (& a kitten harness) to give people the impression this black kitten was being used as bait! People, please do your research before believing everything you see on the Internet. This scum was in it just to scam people out of money!
