This is absolutley outrageous! How any country can stand by and let this happen, let alone refuse veterinary care and re-location to a sanctuary boggles the mind.

Please click on the link and take action. I think the Biggest book in the world would the chronicles of man's abuse to animals.

Thank you Eureka, once again you bring a crisis to our attention. I have sent the emails and made a phone call as well. I must agree the list of man's inhumane treatment of animals seems to never stop. My heart breaks at the thought of these (endangered) tigers being treated in such an uncaring way. I wonder how many people in Mexico actually know this is happening, if they do perhaps their outrage will force the government to do the right thing and get these tigers to a safe haven.

It is so disgusting how humans treat animals. if these were humans something would have been done. but because they are 'JUST ANIMALS" the attitude is "oh well", or "nothing can be done".
something has to be done about these tigers.

Maybe one day the animals will be able to put these horrible 'humans' in cages and do to them what has been done to animals! Bless these poor tigers and all other mistreated animals as well.

I wish the animals could do the same horrific treatment to the humans that hurt them! If this posts twice I'm sorry...Care2 at it again. :(

It blows the mind that some do not care for the welfare of the big cats. They use and abuse for profit with no thought to the torturous confinement, dirty quarters, lack of care, which causes great misery to these large, magnificent animals..

I have copied all the emails and will do an email campaign this weekend.. Thank you Eureka for being the force and voice for these great cats who cannot do it for themselves..

The first time I heard of these Tigers was months ago. I cannot believe nothing has been done. So disturbing! I cannot imagine the physical condition of their bones etc. due to inadequate diet. It is a wonder any of them can walk!

The tiger in this picture has a dislocated leg and is not receiving any medical treatment !!!

Chrstoph has done a beautiful petition letter in Spanish at the News Story site. Please check his note at the end of the story.

Folks - please send the emails and for those who can - Telephone!

This is as bad as the lions who were left to rot in that Rumanian zoo.

WE HAVE GOT TO GET THEM OUT - NOW !!!!

Sue, one of the tigers is lame in both rear legs, and gets around by dragging its back......

One of the other tigers has a dislocated back leg - this is the one in the picture above.

I am so mad I can spit - if I was a Cobra snake now and any of these bureaucrats from hell in Mexico were in my sights they would get a face full of Cobra poison.

I had better check my blood pressure - must be off the charts.

I've sent the e-mails. I had previously sent a letter to the Embassy here in the US about this, and I would call but I only have a cell phone and would be costly to make calls to Mexico.

Thank you, Eureka! I'll forward this on Facebook.

wouldn't it be nice to see people put their money where there mouth is and stop vacationing there? Cancun is just too lovely to give up, I suppose, or should we ask the tigers?
ty Eureka for this action.

Sheila, I have contacted the lady who helped started this a few months ago, and she had actions where people would write to the officals, mentioning what you just said--boycotting Cancun.

Sent in English and Spanish to all. I can't understand the reasoning behind this cruelty when it could have been resolved so long ago. And I thought I wanted to go to Cancun!

So ridiculous and inhumane. So then what is the purpose of keeping these tigers contained? Torture!! It almost makes you be ashamed to be a human.
Thank you so much Eureka

The pride one obtain by standing on top of the humiliation of others is disgusting. More so if it is done in the name of worldly, low class, thoughtless fun, and this one is done not only by a sick rich man, but also by the whole country. We should implore harsher, harder of this act and get those tigers back to the place they belong before they are gone in vain.

Finally received a reply from Mexican authorities about this issue - an email with two PDF files attached. (I've been emailing them every day since I posted this alert). Had it translated by a friend (was in Spanish).

Pasting thethe translation below:
========================
> From: Denuncias [mailto:denuncias@profepa.gob.mx]
> Sent: 12 October 2009 07:14 PM
> Subject: RV: Notificación de Actuaciones

Those documents come from a kind of a 'National department for environmental protection - sub-department for environmental complaints'.

In the 'denuncia tigres - qroo 1.pdf' it's mentioned that they've received the complaint from all those e-mail addresses, but that they're not in compliance with their law which states that anyone who wishes to report an environmental infraction to the Mexican authorities must first identify themselves (name, home address, phone number), describe the events they're reporting, present information about the person/entity they're reporting (so it can be identified), and the respective evidence.

However, they also state that in spite of everything they're going to investigate it.
Moreover, they're saying that as a consequence the complaint is also going to be forwarded to the 'General department of inspection and surveillance of wildlife, marine resources and coastal ecosystems' so that they can look into it.

Additionally they mention that their department, which is called PROFEPA (http://www.profepa.gob.mx/profepa), already has an investigation going on regarding this issue. (therefore it wouldn't have been necessary to previously say they were going to investigate it if they are already doing it!)

In the 'denuncia tigres - qroo 2.pdf' they basically say the same thing, only that in this case it's in a legal format where they also point out the legal procedures that must be followed in order to file such a complaint.

So, the good news is they paid attention to all the e-mails they've received, but the bad news is that probably the investigation they say it's already in course won't present any results...

Anyway, you've put a lot of pressure on them and that's great :)
