Yeh right! Did HE listen when those dogs begged for mercy? He blaims the fact that he grew up in a scene where dog fighting went unpunished. Well now he IS being punished. Maybe he should have used some 'moral' judgement. He sounds like a whining child and has tried every trick and turn in the book to worm his way out of this. Lets hope he has learned a valuable lesson and lets hope other people in his situation have too!!

Vick did what he did. Even if he ever plays football again, he will carry the "stigma" no matter where he plays. I'm sorry, he asked for leniency, where was he when those dogs pleaded... Mr. Vick: You blew it! Period!

All he is begging for is a good name back, he is a low life

That is the roblem with American society today. No one is held accountable for their transgressions. It's always "someone else's" fault. Judges need to deal out alot more accountability throughout the justice system & hold individuals responsible for their crimes. It's not society. It's not "I gre up where no one was punished". Just because no one got caught, means nothing. You knew it was wrong then & ya know it's wrong now and, HELLO, you just got caught! Grow up & take your lumps like a man! You did it, you got caught, now deal.

The same old story from everyone who gets caught. They are not sorry for what they did, only sorry that they got caught and it is always someone else's fault. I hope he is never allowed near a dog or any animal agian.
Noted with thanks, Phyllis.

I expecdted there would be a long line of awesomely irate comments. There oughta be! But, I have the best 4 suggestioins of all -- they don't mess our hands physically nor mentally or emotionally risk causing us unhealthy anger and self-harming arouse our urges for revenge, etc.

My 4 simple suggestions are these:
1 Incarcerate him in Guantanamo
2 Drop him from a helicopter in the center of Baghdad.
3 Lock him up forever in a room with Cheney. Maybe also one sandwich and two guns and TV for those who care to watch.

Did you notice the way he tried to make the dog fighting an act not worthy of police action... "they arrested people for guns and drugs!" Bruce, we could just force Vick to go hunting with Cheney and make him walk behind him! He is a scum bag and will never regain the life that he threw away! His ears couldn't hear those poor pups crying and his eyes couldn't see the blood that was shed by them for his damn fighting.
If he could go to sleep at night without those things haunting him, there is no hope for him to really get it! I seriously believe that he will always blame the police and FBI for whats happened to him! I hope he is watched VERY closely when he does get out, I fear that he may retaliate by turning on dogs with a vengeance in any way that he can!
