DEAD PEASANTS LIFE INSURANCE--Is Your Employer Betting on Your Life to Benefit at Your Death?

Your company could have a life insurance policy on you that you know nothing about. When you die -- perhaps years after you leave your employer -- the tax-free proceeds from this policy wouldnt go to your family. The money would go to the company.

Thanks for posting this, Sheryl.

When one considers the lack of conscience and depths to which corporations will seek for the want of money, it makes one truly re-consider the merits of capitalism.

Dandelion you certainly touched on something so evil and insidious that it make one want to do more then scream.. I ran across this tale during the 90's when I was assisting several injured employees, one of whom died after a serious back injury due to denial after denial, hearing after hearing, appeal after appeal. He was denies choice of doctors and was experimented on with the now infamous survive the metal in the back game..

Many of US know something stinks and it's not in Denmark but here, in these not so United States. This reality zone is one of many reason why "We" should come together as a force instead of beating up on each other..If we had maintained a united front the insidious actions of these last years by those who have abused their power would never have been able to take our nation into the dark realm..

The American way of life has been under attack for many years by the faceless, gr$$dy, un-American corporations. And they're still at it as I write this.. Americans were and are led to believe that we had to fear something beyond our shores... We took our eye off the real issues since we allowed fear and sadly, prejudice, to rule our being... Lets face it Dandelion, "We Americans Have Been Had" Even many of our returning enlisted men and women know what the real score is. Nothing new! Damaged goods not welcomed.. It's a heart breaker but the signs were all around US.

I have continued my quest to enlighten those I am able for many years now. The roads been long and the problems have grown ever larger as these last 8 years have proven..It makes one fight despair and the everyday challenges which never seem to cease unless you stick your head in the proverbial sand. These problems facing US has become a double edge sword. How many of US with health insurance or the cash to pay have been screwed and no one of authority came to take the Burdon away? These problems did not begin yesterday. They've been building and now have reached a fever pitch!

I can understand why some Americans do not want the government running their healthcare. After all they were and are the reason one criminal activity after another, by the private sector, continues until today.. On the other hand if I must chose between the "Corrupt to the max Private Sector" or the Government that "We" the people are suppose to run, I chose the Government.. But that does come with some heavy lifting, responsibilities, which we have, for far too long, shirked...

So! Which way do we go? Do we continue the status quo? If we allow this blatant out of control system of gr$$d and empire building to continue we will have no one to blame but ourselves.."We" dropped the ball! Do "We" pick it up and run with it? With brave hearts like you, Dandelion, and other Care2 members "We" do have a fighting chance..

I realize I got a little off track Dandelion but all things said, our nations a mess, facing a multitude of problems, no matter which way you or I cut it. Thank you "DEAR HEART" for a very important, long overdue, story, which needed to be told...YESTERDAY! Please as punch to call you a friend in the fight to save our nation... ox Barbara

PS: Yes it does Carole. Yes It does.....................

Carole, I like your choice of song.. Here's another song which
I sing when performing. The Games People Play...When I first
started singing this song some years back I never understood
the real significance of it... But I "certainly" do now...

THE GAMES PEOPLE PLAY with no regards, respect nor
compassion for the other lives around them..

SONG
THE GAMES PEOPLE PLAY
Oh the games people play now
Every night and every day now
Never meaning what they say now
Never saying what they mean

And they wile away the hours
In their ivory towers
Till they're covered up with flowers
In the back of a black limousine

[Chorus:]
La-da da da da da da da
La-da da da da da de
Talking 'bout you and me
And the games people play

Oh we make one another cry
Break a heart then we say goodbye
Cross our hearts and we hope to die
That the other was to blame

Neither one will give in
So we gaze at our eight by ten
Thinking 'bout the things that might have been
It's a dirty rotten shame

[Chorus]

People walking up to you
Singing glory hallelulia
And they're tryin to sock it to you
In the name of the Lord

They're gonna teach you how to meditate
Read your horoscope, cheat your faith
And further more to hell with hate
Come on and get on board

[Chorus]

Look around tell me what you see
What's happening to you and me
God grant me the serenity
To remember who I am

Cause you've given up your sanity
For your pride and your vanity
Turns you sad on humanity

Thanks Barbara for you insightful comments and certainly need to be viewed by many. We do need to unify and and open our eyes here.
Thanks Carole for the song....yup, and Donald Trump used it on his show....didn't he. Thanks also Barbara for putting the words down to that song...it is a song I recall and as you say, does put a real significance to it.

You cannot currently send a star to Barbara because you have done so within the last week.

Holly and Gran Pat I also appreciate your comments as well, all I can say is let others know so the citizens can be educated and awakened.

Thank you Barbara and Sheryl for this eye-opening information. It reminds me of the story of how people were being killed for their body parts for transplants after they had signed a transplant donor form in the case of their death. Money greed still haunts us even after we have died by these companie. I would think long and hard about signing a life insurance policy offered by these horrible companies. The Games People Play for sure! But this is going way too far!

This is unethical business practice... perhaps we should add something in our wills to keep them from benefititng.. this is a felony and they should be persecuted for this...

How sick. It NOW makes me wonder if my on the job accident/injury which has messed me up for life was intended to kill me. I had 400 pounds fall on me. Thanks Dandelion for sharing this.

So true C Million, that is the first thing that came to MY mind when I found out they had life insurance policies on their workers without the workers knowledge. They don't get any monies until your dead, so who is to say they haven't tried to help a few along, after all it is only they, the Corporation, that gets the money if you are no more.
I'm so very sorry to learn of your terrible "accident"....let us hope it was an accident and not a deliberate action

Even more ghoulish?

Many of these companies do not provide health insurance coverage for their employees, so their odds of one of them dying from lack of diagnosis and/or necessary medical care are even higher!

For any who care, Alan Parsons Project also did a song called Games People Play

The chorus is:

Games people play, you take it or you leave it
Things that they say just, don't turn out right
If I promised you the moon and the stars, would you believe it
Games people play, in the middle of the night

Seemed relevant?

Yes, indeed Kristen, sort of makes you wonder why so many work so few hours, so they don't have to give you health care? So you might get sick faster? Then die? So they can take a life insurance policy out on you?

OMG, I can't believe it! Capitalism at it's best!!! Now, I have to type this very carefully as my true (swear) words maybe typed. Call me naive, (Yes, I hear you) I thought you had to give consent for someone to insure your life. However, this could be the case (don't quote me) in the UK. I may have to do some investigatingon that one...

Appalling, the law needs to be changed. Michael Moore really finds shocking reports.

You know, corporations/companies and businesses expect you to be loyal to them!! (Nah, I don't think so!!) I wonder if we could take out life insurance on a company/business/corporation??? And then we could financial ruin them!!! Just a thought... :0)

Thank you Dandelion for the post - My eyes are really wide open!!

Thanks Barabra W. for your post too and the song. I was thinking of getting the old log fire going, and having a good old sing song around the old camp fire!!! LOL! :0)

Peace to you...

To reach the unreachable star! Is that not what some at Care2 are trying to do.. I think so.. Thank you Carole for reminding US that we must reach high each and everyday because only then will the world be a better place for all! This song is another favorite of mine..Thank you Dandelion for putting up a story that has reached out and touched all who have read it.. "We" must all Dare To Dream because when dreams die, so goes greatness. No dream is impossible!

I absolutely agree with you Chaz.. The arrogance of these companies "Dare" doing something as underhanded as this never ceases to amaze me.. The fact that our legislators have allowed this practice bares more looking into..It certainly makes you think! And I'll leave it at that.

That fact was actually covered in Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story."

I hadn't considered it before . . . but it makes (capitalistic/non-humanitarian) sense.

Just Carole (430)
Monday October 19, 2009, 8:04 pm

We are not ruled by humanitarians . . . we are CONTROLLED by corporations.

As such, "dead wood" and non-contributors need to be eliminated.

If you don't see that, you need to remove your blinders.

Just Carole (430)
Monday October 19, 2009, 8:06 pm

My reference to believing was a call to those who are losing faith.

If we all give up . . . there is truly no more hope.

Excellent statement Carole "we are NOT RULED by HUMANITARIANS.....we ARE CONTROLLED by Corportations.
So with the Society waking up....more and more, we can only hope that Society....the YOU and ME, will start to cut the puppet strings that are controlling us. To educate the public is the best way....why do you think our schools have been left to rot?

Dead Peasants' Life Insurance Policies have been around for years. Employers pay for them and get their benefits. That bit is okay. What is not okay is the employee not knowing about it, and thus not being able to negotiate about it either. The employee should be insured for his/her own benefit first as part of his/her salary package. After all the employer cannot insure an employee unless there is one!

We put in the effort that makes them rich..yet what do we get in return?Jobs are outsourced and relocated when it suits the bottom line,we are denied the basic freedom of organising free trade unions and our corporate controlled governments produce legislation which perpetuates the status quo.I heard about this "dead peasants"crap through Michael Moore..it is degrading and inhumane..but hey judging from the number of people who beleive in the "American dream "that never was (read about the hidden history of class domination, denial of rights to workers, and experience the corporate denial of the healthcare which America craves and has voted for)..many people like having their faces in the dirt,so long as the experience is wrapped in the flag of freedom..Have people come to despise self respect..!?
