Thanks, my friend, for posting this. Is there a place where people with an extra set of crutches can take them to be shipped to Haiti? These precious people have been through so much and we need to realize how lucky we really are that we can help them, and are not the ones needing the help.

Ok Barbara, glad you found it. I'm getting near on going night night myself...whew busy day.

Not only are crutches and prosthetics needed but canes and wheelchairs too. In order to be able to rebuild a life one must be able to get around...these items are vital to help these people. Many of us have an old cane or pair of crutches stored in the back of the closet, so now is a good place to finally donate it.

If just the top 250,000 MD's in America give one leg or arm each, that solves the whole problem, doesn't it?

If there is a Walker you have and can donate Kathryn, just go to the link and follow the instructions. Heather Mills.org, Paul McCathney's former wife, is spearheading a campaign on this. She has linked with Physicians for Peace as they are already there and have been doing this so are able to immediately fill this void. If you do not find what you need on here go to her link and there will be more information.

Hey, my Dr. said I'm a healthy puppy, yippee....phew, pneumonia was not fun. However, as I was sitting with my Dr. I took the time to tell her about this program. One must never assume everyone knows all that is going on out there. Her eyes lit up and she was delighted that I had told her of this as she knows of a way to get some free crutches, walkers, canes, to these people. So don't forget to take an opportunity where it may arise as the person you speak to may be just the right ear.

Sheryl, while watching the non-stop broadcasts, with doctors BEGGING for assistance (that was sitting on the airport tarmac), and hearing about the unattended wounds afflicting people surrounded by filth, developing into gangrene, and necessitating amputations . . . I could barely contain my rage.

Thank God for physicians who still take seriously their oath to heal first.

Great story!
