What a wonderful organization. This is certainly a needed service organization.
It is a shame that the government is really good at spending money on guns and ammunition, training and sending the kids off to unholy wars, but is really bad at supporting the broken families and lost lives, healing the trauma on the psyches of these families. War must end.

Thank you Justin for dropping by, and you are most welcome Edwin. I may not support the polices that our civilian Government determines we should be doing, but I never turn my back on our young men and women of the military, for they are all of our sons and daughters.

I was not aware of this particular non-profit until I was getting my cats their shots at an agricultural event. A booth was set up for VSO and I spent a bit of time speaking to the man that was there and also making a small donation. I thought it would be helpful to them to place their wonderful organization onto the C2 news room.

Awesome for the soldiers.
But why the hell can't our sad & cheap goverment take care of these wonderful people that served in a politcal war for the sake of a few that will make money off war. Bush / Cheney. We send young & old off to war let them get hurt then our goverment turns there backs on the vets,
What if the Goverment called for another war, and all refused to go, that would be great.
Peace

George_W._Bush, aka as dubya, tried to cut the military pay several times while he was in office.
Dubya also allowed the veterans administration to fall in its cares for the returning soldiers.
Dubya also had his administration do the "stop-loss" policy which has had a profound effect on soldiers. So much that the soldiers are committing suicide in the highest numbers ever recorded in American history.
Bushy was also responsible for getting USA in wars which we all have gotten sick of them in the past years.
Bushy is also responsible for more than doubling the military budget for the sake of "OIL" and big corporations, and into expansion of "fascist imperialism". So much money has been expended in "bushy's folly" that our country of USA has undergone a monetary and economic transformation, for the worst.

I now feel sorry for the veterans who have been fooled, taken into a "war" that is no longer justifiable.

Ty, Dandelion.

Excellent. Too bad it's left up to private organizations to clean up the mess governments make. The only people who profit from these wars are the financiers and those with connections to the Elite.

Jim, what planet do you get your news from? Despite his faults GW supported us. The current administration gives miliraty retirees and vets nothing but photo ops and lip service. The current plan to decimate our health care is just the latest example of a non-caring Obama.

Thanks to all of you for your support. Vets are so thankful for most of thye American people that we serve.

The Government wants to cut Military pay but what most people do not realize is that the AVERAGE pay to our Military is around $600 a month. How is anyone, much less a family supporssed to live on that? We can bail out Wall Street (mind you, without asking any of the USA citizens about how they felt about that) and then they stole the money to purchase Jets, vacations, and bump up their pay. It should have been a National Vote when it comes to taking away from the citizens that which is rightfully due to them as they paid into the system. I did not pay into the system to support Wall Street who thru their own greed made bad decisions in their business and approved loans that were no good. How many business have we known of that collapsed due to bad choices but we don't go an bail them out.........yet our men and women who so courageously & selflessly put their life and limbs on the line to protect our Freedoms, Our Country is discarded off to the side like trash. Makes no sence to me! And average person on disability or just because they are lazy and do not want to work collect more money from the government than the Soldiers do. Most of them do not believe in War either but they love their Country and are willing to lay down their lives for this Country. We send all of this money to other Countries to help them out for which a vast majority of them do no want our help and then we cannot help our own people who are forced to endure tragedies such as Katrina, The tornado's in Alabama, the tornados in Rolla Missouri or the Floods in Florida. When will we start thinking obout OUR COUNTRY and the men & women who firght to keep it OUR COUNTRY, land of the free, Home of the Brave! You all have a twisted sence of loyality to this Country and the people who make it up.

Noted & "Like"d on Facebook. It will help me keep abreast of this important issue to all American citizens. It's the least one can do for heroes who lay their lives on the line for the rest of us. War continues to take a toll on these military service vets for the rest of their lives if they survive the deployment. God bless them and their families! TY, Dandelion for this article of what should most be remembered @ a time when we celebrate the birthday of our nation.........

Thankfully Dusty, I think everyone on this thread understood the priorities and importance of our young men and women who serve. However, there are many in this Country who do have twisted sense of priorities and their moral compass is failing them.

It's very sad that our our government does not give veterans the level of care and support they deserve. Our veterans should be a priority --not a burden! As usual, citizens who already have a hard time making ends meet are the first ones to come to their aid. Thank goodness for the non-profit agencies that make it possible for us to do so!

Thanks for sharing this, Dandelion!

This is a necessary link for vets. From war to civilian life is more difficult for some than those with a complete support system of their own. Whether it's an emotional, financial or logistic deficit, this group needs our help those who have put their lives on the line for us. I agree with all who see the absence of government when it comes to following through. Funny that the aftermath is planned and financed even before the conflict begins.
Bookmarked and will direct some small donations here. Thanx Sheryl.

Right on Edith, so true Susanne, and thanks Nancy, and is correct how our Government always finds enough money for the bombs and such, but not the aftercare. Once you are used in this Country you are spit out and that is that. Is they way the Elders are being treated, too old to make them more money, well cut off everything that keep you alive, income, health care, shelter just go die, you can not be used any more. Shameful culture we have now that a system pushed down our throats, now everyone needs to push back, to say, this isn't the way we want to live.

"The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government." ~Thomas Jefferson

I guess you have to be one of the 1% to be rewarded in our society. Putting your life on the line gets you very little. Outside organizations must fund the help and care that our service members desperately need and deserve. It is an outrage. Thanks Dandelion.
