The Feather Project is a collaborative effort to build inter-generational collaboration and cooperation between elders and youth, and to draw upon the wisdom of indigenous cultures to find solutions to this impasse that lies ahead.

"If we don't change our values we are not going to survive." I agree with this sentence. We have to speak up in order to safe our future generation and Mother Earth.
Thanks Dandelion.

If only our values didn't place financial wealth (money) at the top of the list, we could maybe correct some of the horrors currently sending this planet to hell!

An important issue for everyone on the planet. It was inspiring and interesting to read "to draw upon the wisdom of indigenous cultures to find solutions" because indigenous peoples know so many things we do not. Thank you Sheryl.

Dialogue-collaboration- and action-"as simple as that". There's not even the first at your administration..!
Today's feather for the young seem to be their iPads and stuff, now if anyone could figure out a way to bring back the thinking for the 7 generations there might be a chance of survival. Perhaps a "7- generations App"?!
For now, the only concern appears to be oil & gas for 7 generations of Americans.
Thank you Sheryl and sorry for my bitter sarcasm, you know I do value the teachings as the only solution for the planet!

The North American indigenous people use to be 100% of the population and had the others that came here taken the time to truly understand the ways of The People who had lived here for thousands of years, we'd all be living in a better place.

Now the original inhabitants are 1 to 2% of the population, so the Voices are not so many. Although few in numbers the voices are still being heard, as the message resonates to the core being of all and speaks for balance, harmony, life instead of destruction and death. Thankfully others have joined in their voices that are not of native background, they have learned to find what is Truth again inside their hearts and they have come to realize that this isn't just an "Indian" issue but one that we all face.

That is why this inter-generational approach is very helpful, and passing the feather slows things down and becomes more concrete. All need to feel the Earth beneath their feet again, to feel the sunshine on their face, to smell the scents of the meadows, the forest, the ocean.......when they do that there triggers an awakening.

Well said, Dandelion!! I always love your comments.
What would this country look like if the white man had never discovered it? Safe to say, it wouldn't be so polluted!! And money wouldn't be the most important thing there is!

It wouldn't look like a vast fracked wasteland, that's for sure. We'd still have majestic mountains majesties and sea to shining sea, as opposed to mountaintop removal and polluted oceans.

"Set aside the jealousy, and the greed and the hatred."
If we only could!!
In Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States," he outlines how the emerging capitalists of the 19th century found it convenient to develop,, and fan race hatred, for the sake of dividing the common people, and hiding the class chasm, allowing them to engage in financial rape of the U.S.A., which has now come to include the physical rape of the planet.

I'm familiar with this that you speak Mitchell, I'm also a Howard Zinn reader. The Feather Project is only one of the Voices that is trying to spread the message. The older ones speaking to the younger ones, don't get caught into those places, jealousy, greed, hatred. There has to be a counter to this.......we must all do our part.

Sorry Daryl on the videos, as they give a lot of information in a short and easy format to learn from.

Mankind forgets he, she, does not own the Earth. The Great Mother gives us food, beautiful flowers, trees, birds and many animals, and allows us to live here. We should respect these gifts , and live in harmony with each other, and mother nature herself. Instead, mankind fights, kills, destroys nature, pollutes the oceans , tests atomic bombs under the earth. All this for greed , envy, and power . They forget , Mother nature is much more powerful than they will ever be. Over the years she has shown her power. Storms ,tornados , tidal waves, etc. If mankind does not change, The Great Mother, could very easily get rid of him . Think about it.

Noted and shared. Excellent video with a great message. If only people would listen. Unfortunately, generally, they can't shut up long enough to hear.
