I have been a proud trade unionist for 45 years. Collective bargaining provided me with a comfortable living and an enjoyable, albeit not luxurious, retirement. I stand on the shoulders of giants!

Thanks, Sheryl. I always support the unions. If not for the UMWA my family would have had nothing.

Thanks Sheryl! I will always support unions. My grandfather belonged to a union when he worked for McDonnell-Douglas as a floor maintenance supervisor. He made a very good income for the time and without that union, he would never have attained the salary or the benefits he did, in any other job except maybe as an electrician. I will always be thankful for that.

I'm in a union now but the "merger" that just happened will most likely mean an end to that. Thanks Sheryl.

I'm sorry to learn this Winn.....

The role of a labor union is to ensure that the balance is not tipped in favor of the employer when employees do not receive wages and benefits commensurate with their contribution.—William Burrus

Thank you, Dandelion.

Without the influence of organized labor we will find ourselves in a race to the bottom.

The moneyed elite have found it expedient to destroy unions and in so doing they are destroying America. Shame enough to go around to most of the 1% employers who think it's their birthright to abuse their workers just because they can. What have "Christian" values done for America lately? The right proclaims their dedication to their religious and family values while voting for the elimination of unions, Social Security, and every other program that sustains those who can no longer work to support themselves. Keep on keeping on, Dandelion! We must not give in to unjust and inhumane actions by those who have gained much power but little insight.

I have been pro-union most of my life. And they do help workers. And Jimmy Hoffa was / is not the only union leader. I am not quite as comfortable with “Labor + Management Partnership since I was “shanghaied" into a union. I notified the NLRB, the case went to court and the research assistants won the case against the Labor + Management Partnership and had our dues refunded. Since then, I'm leery.

Sorry for incomplete thought. Jimmy Hoffa was not the only CORRUPT union leader.

Nothing is ever perfect Stevie, but without Unions more people suffer overall.
