Aquafina has changed its labels to specify P.W.S. Public Water Source under pressure from Accountability International. It is just processed tap water the same stuff that you can find in your kitchen sink.

Thanks Evelyn for pointing this out. Evelyn has been very busy but she hasn't forgotten us.

There was an excellent video posted on this topic, about 2 years ago -
A (? NY?) restaurant, offering a "bottled water" menu with fancy names and a "water waiter" advising ...
But in fact the bottles were all filled from a hose out back. Only after the clients had done a "water tasting", rating different labels etc, were they informed of the hoax.

It was part of a campaign to educate people about the false confidence people have in labels on bottled water ...

Thanks, Dandelion!

And don't think you are safe if you have water home delivered, as many here still do!

Many years ago i used to get water delivered in those large plastic 10 litre containers.
One day i watched the delivery guy from my window come into my yard looking left & right as he did so, get my garden hose & fill the tank in the back of the truck!!!
That was when i invested in a good water filter & i haven't bought water since!!!

I used to get mad at my mom for regularly buying cases of bottled water wrapped in more plastic. Just get a metal water bottle and a filter. It's not rocket surgery!!

Evelyn, I remember seeing that video.

Now that is brazen Animae. Normally they'd fill them not right under your nose.. I hope you reported that company; I suppose for as much good it would do you.

I agree, many of us have known this for a long time, but it is good that they are now required to say so.

The only time I have ever bought bottled water is when I was at a UK airports and they don't have water fountains like US airports.

There was one filter system I had I will look up and send it to you, it was great, but I must of worn it out since that started to taste like CARP...S...T Trying to mind my pees and q's here. lol

At least they admitted it. Think most bottled water is right from the tap. But billions are addicted to the BS.

Am I missing something? I thought this was common knowledge that many bottled waters are simply filtered tap water.

No link Dande, the tap water tasted just a horrible as the bottle water does. Even My Dog won't drink it! I have a Shaklee water filter. No link it's Shaklee.com for natural products.

I think that they admitted it is the point. Many of us knew this from investigative media this now places the company on record by admission.

I agree that it is great to have the water clearly labeled so people know it isn't anything special and that it isn't naturally sourced spring water. But whether it's spring water or filtered tap water the result is the same-most plastic water bottles are not recycled and end up as part of huge plastic piles in the ocean unfortunately.

Agree bring your own thermos. Perhaps if people understand there is nothing special they'll stop buying the plastic water bottle water and do what we use to do, a thermos.

My city is fortunate enough to have excellent tap water - so excellent, in fact, that several years ago there was talk of bottling and selling it.

But I'm one of the few people at work that will actually drink from the water fountain. Why? Many people turn their noses up, saying they "don't drink tap water." I literally LOL.
