We are the tax playground for the rich. We are the test case for anyone who wants to experiment. Outsiders get tax exemptions, and locals can not get permits.

Hmmmm - Bit Coin Billionaires. Hope they succeed and take good care of the natives that live there and the ones that want to return. Should be interesting until the government starts taking more than it's share. Never heard of paying off bankruptcy with Bit Coin.

Dirty, shameless, fat orcs exploiting and screwing the poor. Figures. I have heard rumors that the reason FEMA has dawdled on fixing Puerto Rico's infrastructure is so greedy ogres can buy up real estate pennies on the dollar, then build their big playground and tax-dodge for the filthy rich, while those who remain in PR can be their underpaid servants.

The storm is building.

This should be interesting to watch a bunch of baby billionaires take over another country much less a territory of the USA to make their own Fiefdom . Let's make bets with imaginary money on how far they get with this well thought out jibber jabber. Laughing all the way to the bank

I might laugh too if it doesn't negatively impact the people of Puerto Rico

Can one go bankrupt with bitcoin? Or is it just a virtual burst bubble when it collapses?

The whole tax status rules for Puerto Rica are incoherent from a rights point of view: PR is tied in to the US by chains, yet US mainlanders have so many benefits there ...

It is far from clear, but I have the impression that the Puerto Ricans are liable to find themselves forced to accept payment in bitcoin/ virtual money ... and pay taxes to the US in ordinary $$$$. Which they'll find - where??? Not a problem to be faced by cryptocurrency millionaires ...

This whole thing sounds like such a disastrous idea. The people of Puerto Rico have the resources to leave will be stuck acting as an underclass in this bizarre social/economic experiment. Thanks Dandelion.
