President Obama and Congress, it is time to act immediately to stop existing hydraulic fracturing across America, and work to alleviate the growing public health crisis facing communities affected by gas drilling.

Fracking is an inherently dangerous gas drilling method employed by an out-of-control industry operating in secrecy, with the benefit of sweeping exemptions to our most basic environmental and public health protections. It has been responsible for contaminating our water, polluting our air, and devastating our communities across the country. The gas industry has proven time and time again that they have a complete disregard for the people their irresponsible and dangerous practices harm. Furthermore, the best science and evidence shows that fracking cannot be done safely.

I understand the benefits of NG over oil/coal, but would if we must use it over solar/wind/tidal/wave/geothermal/etc it needs to be done safely

Fracking is one of the most dangerous environmental attacks the oil and gas industry have tried to foist on an unwary public. Despite the undeniable evidence of the practice's polluting water and land, this industry just spends money on politicians and lobbyists. I definitely signed.

It's the rich man's game, destroy everything in site and pocket the loot.

Maybe we need a scaled down version of fracking to use on our politicians
