Violence against women and girls is a global problem. In some countries, as many as 70 percent of women and girls experience gender-based violence.

Women and girls around the world are standing up, speaking out and finding concrete solutions to reduce gender-based violence. The United States has a crucial role to play in supporting these efforts, but our leaders need to hear from us.

Signed. 1 in 3 American women will become a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime. This is completely unacceptable!!! Women around the world, especially in nations predisposed to violence, should be valued as living, breathing, sentient beings with feelings, hopes, dreams, and feelings. The violence must end!
