What noble and important goal this is, not just for Pakistan but for the world. Education is always the key to eradicating barriers of discrimination.

Education is one of the 2 ways to lead a country to become self sustaining, the other is to provide health care so that they can be healthy and learn to live healthy. Noted & shared.

It's not helping the cause of Education in Pakistan, or Women's and Girls' Rights in Pakistan or anywhere else, that U.S. DRONES are RANDOMLY KILLING WOMEN, CHILDREN, BABIES, and CIVILIAN MEN, in Pakistan.

The U.S. DRONES are not "smart" like they are advertised to be: the U.S. DRONES are not "smart" enough to distinguish a "terrorist", their supposed target, from his family, children, friends, neighbors, passersby, or even tell if the "terrorist" is the one killed, among dozens!
UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT STOP USING DRONES AGAINST PAKISTANIS - and THEN maybe Pakistan will have the time, resources, and will to put into EDUCATION FOR ITS PEOPLE.

What use is it to educate a Schoolgirl, only to have her BLASTED TO TINY BLOODY FRAGMENTS by a UNITED STATES DRONE MISSILE????
This is an UNDECLARED WAR going on that is being IGNORED by the U.S. press, but not the world...

Who will pay for all the educating? In such a poor country, I find it hard to believe that there is means for some kind of nationwide program. We can't pay our own bills, and so cannot "help." Besides, you can be self-sustaining without book learning - you can learn all you need to live in your environment from your elders, your neighbors, and experience. The most basic knowledge is the most important. Many westerners couldn't survive in their home landscape on their own, and are even afraid of it. What does that say? I'm guessing most Pakistanis are better adjusted than we are.

Check out Sepp Holzer - he is teaching worldwide about permaculture and how we can all be self-reliant and independent without programs and assistance. A much more reliable, powerful way of living close to the earth.

N&S. Please nominate Malala for Person of the Year -- *every* year until she is recognized. We, as a global species, desperately need to honor the strength & courage of children like her. For make no mistake: this girl is still just a child & that is *exactly* what makes her message so poignant & so compelling.
