When a champion like Sen. Davis stands up for women--especially in a state as hostile to women's health as Texas--we need to stand up for her, too. Can you sign on to our thank you card to Sen. Davis?

Between tweets and emails I must have signed 30 of these today, and will be happy to sign more. What people do not realize is that she dared to stand up to his Royal Highness Perry. Who thinks of Davis as a show horse, there really is no end to the disrespect for women. Next week this will all begin again, this time Perry plans to prevent the public from being in the Capitol and not allow any discussion. This bill could not get the traction it need in the full session, so Perry thought himself very clever to call a special session.
Some Governors know when to back off, for Perry not having his way, is like a red flag.

Thanks for posting this Bev, I think Wendy speaks for all women, we are most certainly able to think for ourselves.

Signed. Wendy Davis realizes that women's rights are in jeopardy and she has the courage to stand up for them in a place like Texas, that seems to hate women and wants them back to 1900, where they had no rights at all.

Done! I am so happy to know that my Texas friends have someone like Wendy Davis in government ready to stand up to slick Rick.

Pulling stunts like "no discussion", "no public" (who's government is it anyways?), and the pièce de résistance --- lying about the timing of the vote on the 25th, should show people that Slick Rick and his cronies are only too willing to be deceitful and do NOT represent ALL the people of Texas.

I thought this was more about bringing a standardized set of safety requirements for all patients in the state sho indulge, across-the-board SAME ... licensed doctors with hospital privileges, certified "assistants", sterile and fully equipped working facilities, open entrance/exit access, hallways wide enough to accommodate litters in case transport to hospital becomes necessary after botched attempt, etc. How could you not want that?

Since this means all but 5 will close due to their substandard facilities, and upgrades will cut into their profits, what comes first .. women's safety or the almighty buck?
