Wonderful. There are food forests in various neighborhoods designed to let anyone walking by to take what they need (example: http://www.takepart.com/article/2012/02/21/its-not-fairytale-seattle-build-nations-first-food-forest). Sort of urban foraging - spread the wealth and health. Portland's dirt alleyways have been turned into food plots for the neighbors. P-patches are springing up in empty lots. And my cherry tomato plant yielded 2 cups of yumminess this summer.
