The effects of geoengineering could be worse than climate change, so we need to do our homework rather than assume it can stave off disaster. OUR profligate greenhouse emissions are creating problems of planetary proportions for our descendan

You cannot fool mother earth , only yourselves with non-sensical solutions that do not involve personal and planetary responsibility. :)

I wish more folks KNEW the energy that can be recieved by taking the personal steps towards a sustainable life. I Cannot stress the great rewards available for these actions at this point, do not take my word for it TRY IT( and watch Y-OUR life improve). Thx daphna ,my totally cool friend:):):)

Of course "we" can cool down the planet - simple - STOP CUTTING DOWN ALL THE TREES to build just one house! Where I used to work, it took me 10 minutes to drive the 7 miles. En route, I would drive through farmland with cows grazing under centuries old magnificent oaks. The air temperature would drop at least 10 degrees in this area. Now, the land has been literally raped, with over 1000 houses there. It is HOT to drive through there, now. There is a county ordinance to leave/have at least 3 trees, minimum 3" in diameter, per new house built. These trees were to remain there, to grow, as long as the house was there. If the tree died, it had to be replaced, per the code. BUT, of course, local politics has overlooked this bit of trivia, and allowed hundred of pristine acres to be scalped clean, with only same-design houses, with no trees, whatsoever.
Basic biology tells of photosynethesis - trees, and all green living plants, take IN CO2 at night, and give OFF oxygen. So, why all the panic about "global warming" - let the trees grow, and the earth can, and will, fix itself - but only if allowed to do so.

I do not think that this is possible... we need to be practical about the whole issues and start at grass root level before even contemplating the above

Indeed we can't fool mother Earth and also can't fool father Sun.
Maybe its a bit disappointing here but global warming seems to be a man-made hoax, designed to lead away our attention. Sunspots don't emerge often anymore and they did cause the warming till a decade ago. Now Earth is cooling...
It is already done for us :-)

The only real problem is the fact that humans are still living on the surface of the planet! We need to move off-world and build new homes amongst the stars! Then Gaia will heal herself and humanity can start the process of building new worlds from scratch!

start building our homes and factories and strip malls underground and leave the land upstairs for growing things. or plant rooftop gardens. If we pave the earth and keep dumping greenhouse gasses in the air we are going to be like mars soon.
