This is a really sad state of affairs.. that people's fears of gays are driving them to this ghastly behaviour... perhaps there should be some educational programmes of caring and respecting a persons rights

Too sad that this sort of thing is still happening! I feel so sorry for Mr Price. I agree with Chaz that education programmes might help. Something needs to be done to eradicate the ignorance and hate.

Daphna ty for the post everytime I read or hear of these gay bashings my heart goes out to those poor souls who are subjected to these dreadfully unacceptable hate crimes. These bashers and murderers are so far from the path of wisdom it is doubful that they will ever find it!!! We all are different - acceptance and understanding is paramount!!! How another person chooses to live their lives is THEIR BUSINESS AND ONLY THEIRS!!! IT NOT FOR OTHERS TO INTERFERE WITH OR DENY THEIR CHOICE!!! People may have an opinion - but that is all it is their opinion and best kept to themselves if they cannot behave with respect and kindness!!! Love & Light

The animals who did this broke many old and well-established laws including felony assault and battery as well as attempted murder. They are criminals. To believe that having an additional crime of "hate" would prevent criminals like these from committing heinous acts is silly. We have enough laws on the books to send these thugs to jail for the rest of their lives. Hate is stupid like these guys are. Why not have a law against stupidity? Hate is not a crime, but an emotion. Acting on that emotion as they did already IS a crime. So put their sorry asses in jail for a long time regardless. Because they injured and tried to kill an innocent person. I don't give a crap why they did it. The crime is they did do it and they should pay.

People like that are just hypocrites or plain stupid. Either they hate them because in their "morals" being gay is wrong (but beating them up is fine), or just because, hey, those people are different and therefore there is a reason for them to be hated.
