Thanx Daphna. Our world is so full of dreadful people doing hateful things -The Chinese should just get out of Tibet leave them to govern themselves as they were doing until invaded. How awful... that one cannot stand up for what they believe in.... also in expressing freedom of speech.. what is so unjust is the punishment they dish out does not fit the so called crime...

Signed and noted, China has so many good things going for them over the past few decades. This type of action, and others like it, need to end as they continue to grow as a country. I suspect many of the Chinese people would agree...

And President Obama met with the president of China instead of the Dalai Lama.

How much of this is our fault - everything we buy, guess where it's made. Should we boycott American companies that do business with China?

Unbelievable. When is the U.S. going to stop interfering. Get out of other countries and get your own country in order.

I signed ALL the Actions on the next page; it is the LEAST I could do, for Human Rights in Tibet. {About a dozen Actions; I forgot to count them.}

One of the Protest Actions was, protesting against Religious Order #5, promulgated by the Chinese, stating that "No Buddhist teacher or Lama was allowed to be re-incarnated without the permission of the Chinese government authorities"! Wha-at?! Funny, if it weren't so tragic in its consequences.
Go sign that one if you haven't gotten to it. "Protest against Religious Order #5".

It is ENTIRELY APPROPRIATE for the U.S. government to PROTEST, formally, Human Rights violations by the Chinese in Tibet, and by any other countries; just as it is ENTIRELY APPROPRIATE for other countries, to protest both formally and informally, when the U.S. commits Human Rights violations, as it does itself {altho often we are kept from hearing much about such protests directed at OUR govt}.
Everybody, ALL sides, always squeaks "Interference!" under such circumstances, when they are the target. It's STANDARD Operating Procedure. We, and they, just HATE being caught doing something nasty!

As far as more being done, however, I suppose the U.S. is JUST IN TOO DEEP with the Chinese, from whom we are BORROWING MONEY, payable-back by our CHILDREN and children's children, to pay for our EXPENSIVE WARS in Iraq, Afghanistan, and wherever the CIA and the Corporations want to take us next......
"I further call on President Obama to speak out about this incident and take bold and concrete action to end China's violent occupation of Tibet when he visits Beijing next month."
Oh, dream ON.......!

All those years ago when the Chinese walked into Tibet and there was not a peep out of any nation because they did n ot want to upset the " yellow giant ", well the ripple effect is being felt today. Tibet was a peaceful country which the Chinese took over saying that originally belonged to them and now they needed it as a roadway to enter India, Pakistan and other countries which it suited them to walk into.
Arunachal Pradesh, India's most easterly state, is now being claimed by the Chinese, as are parts of Kashmir, incidently, and people who travel in those areas to China are given special visas like they are living in China! Had a stand been taken all those long years ago, then His Holiness the Dalai Lama would never have had to live in exile and His monks need only have lived the lives that all monks lead, one of prayer and contemplation. Its a sad but brutal fact of live, you need to have some mineral asset on your land before anyone will come to your aid in any times of conflict.
This Brave Old World is its own worst enemy!!
