After a two-year-long design competition, the 2010 Winter Olympic medals have been chosen, and the design isn't the only cool part. Weighing in at a record 500-576 grams, the medals are made from recycled electronics.

Wow cool design! These medals had already created record before the winter Olympic starts and hope that more records are going to be created in this 2010 Winter Olympic. Putting my fingers crossed to see this lovely creation. Thanks.

Brilliant idea to make them from recycled materials, but can't say I can see the design well enough to say whether I like it or not. I once saw the most fantastic lightshade made from recycled circuit boards. Wow! It never ceases to amaze me, people's creativity. I have got to get off my bum and have a go at designing.. :-)
