The U.N. Climate Change Conference is only five weeks away, and no one knows for sure if world leaders will agree on a climate treaty. What we do know is that strong U.S. climate policy and bold leadership by President Obama will vastly improve our chanc

It can't be a "conspiracy theory" if everything is out in the open and documented.

"The common enemy of humanity is man.
In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up
with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming,
water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these
dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through
changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome.
The real enemy then, is humanity itself."
- Club of Rome,
premier environmental think-tank,
consultants to the United Nations

"We need to get some broad based support,
to capture the public's imagination...
So we have to offer up scary scenarios,
make simplified, dramatic statements
and make little mention of any doubts...
Each of us has to decide what the right balance
is between being effective and being honest."
- Prof. Stephen Schneider,
Stanford Professor of Climatology,
lead author of many IPCC reports

"We've got to ride this global warming issue.
Even if the theory of global warming is wrong,
we will be doing the right thing in terms of
economic and environmental policy."
- Timothy Wirth,
President of the UN Foundation, founded by Ted Turner and still controlled by him, not the UN, with the assistance Maurice Strong and Kofi Annan. The foundation is the funder of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Senator Wirth bragged about how he stage managed James Hanse'ns 1988 appearance before a Senate Committee. They opened the windows and shut off the airconditioning so that the hearing room was unbearably hot in a Washington heat wave. They had carefully chosen the day most likely to have the annual heat wave in early June.

This corruption of science has been carefully stage managed from it's very inception.
Present at the beginning, the man who guided and arranged UN events, Maurice Strong.

"Isn't the only hope for the planet that the
industrialized civilizations collapse?
Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?"
- Maurice Strong,
founder of the UN Environment Programme

"We should all want to be wise and careful stewards of the beautiful planet we call home. But most of us realise that humans in general are not being good stewards. We are wasteful with our natural resources and have reduced biodiversity. Therefore, when we read about groups and organisations calling for a 'green revolution' and a new relationship between humanity and nature it is easy to agree with their ideas.

However, certain aspects of the modern green movement that is permeating every segment of our society are not about protecting the environment. You don’t have to dig very deep to discover the true beliefs of the influential leaders who are using genuine concerns about the environment to promote an agenda of fear and control. Please carefully consider the implications of the opinions that they so openly and freely express:"

I realize that there are a lot of pressing issues on the table, but if we as an individual, a nation and as part of the world's community continue putting climate change concerns on the backburner, it will only exponentially get worse.
Time for some serious talk, communicating and action this December...

Maybe WE should delay the copenhagen meeting for a month or so...??? nonetheless, WE SHALL have a strong global climate pact , it appears that THE WORLD is ready to finally take this step thanks to ALL OF Us raising awareness and getting involved to CREATE the political WILL worldwide.
The collective concioussness still needs to be raised though, hence the term-
Get real - Get Sustainable, NOW, :):):)

Take the PERSONAL steps towards sustainability and receive THE ENERGY that will raise Y-OUR conciousness and empower you . WE ARE......

Thx Chris!!!!!!

"It can't be a "conspiracy theory" if everything is out in the open and documented."

Then why worry about it? Because it threatens the economic interests of certain fossil fuel companies, of course. The sooner we rid ourselves of the stranglehold those industries have on our economies, the better.

Thanks. Cutting carbon and other chemicals from burning fossil fuels cuts pollution and helps to reduce the ill-effects of carbon and chemicals on human and animal health -- which also saves money in the long run. Winners all round -- the health of ecosystems, animals and humans will benefit from a green economy and raising less meat.

The oil and coal companies will make money trading carbon credits. It is Joe Average who will pay for those profits.
The dingbats doesn't understand that the annual cost of at least $1700 per family of 4 will be a heavy burden for most families, especially black and Latino ones.

Civil Rights Leader Says Cap & Trade Hurts Poor

The policies incorporated in “cap and trade” — or the Waxman-Markey Bill – are an “assault” on the poor and middle-income citizens of America, according to Niger Innis, national spokesman for the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), a civil rights group founded in 1942. Innis was the keynote speaker at the Montana Petroleum Association’s Annual Appreciation Luncheon.

“The assault we have seen on the energy industry, by the green mafia, has translated into an assault on you,” said Innis. He explained that the availability of “affordable energy impacts your ability to enjoy or observe your civil rights. . . It impacts your ability to climb the economic ladder of opportunity.”

The Waxman-Markey has passed the US House of Representatives and awaits consideration in the US Senate. The bill would institute a system of carbon credits (a fee paid to the government by energy users) in proportion to the amount of carbon dioxide they emit. The credits could be bought and sold among businesses, but the upper limit on emissions allowed would be incrementally reduced over a period of years, reducing their availability which would drive up their value or cost. Ostensibly, the purpose of the legislation is to reduce the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which is believed by some to cause global warming. By increasing the cost of using energy, people will not be able to afford as much and therefore will have to use less energy and emit less carbon dioxide

“Energy is the master resource,” said Innis, “It makes all others possible. It allows for homes, food, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

“Laws that restrict access and drive up costs are not good for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” he continued. When they drive up the cost of everything, “those who get hurt disproportionately are the poor and disadvantaged.”

Innis pointed out that while the focus of “cap and trade” policies are to lower the standard of living, it is higher standards of living that allow more efficient use of energy. The average median-income American family spends 5 cents on the dollar for energy. The average low-income family spends 20 cents on the dollar. Those that fall below the poverty line spend 50 cents on the dollar

The campaign behind the promotion of “cap and trade” is well funded by “elitists who claim they are protecting the environment from greedy corporations and foreign oil, but the reality is the Waxman -Markey Climate bill is an assault on the most vulnerable in our country,” said Innis, leaving them with fewer jobs and a reduced standard of living.

Innis quoted a study by the National Association of Manufacturers that shows an overall loss of between 1.8 million and 2.4 million jobs, should the legislation be implemented. It means an increase of between $200 to $1300 per year per household in increased energy costs.

Pointing out that other factors will nullify any carbon dioxide reductions that might result from the caps and imposed costs, Innis said, “The extreme green efforts are not made to save the planet.” He pointed out that European countries have made it “abundantly clear” that they plan to double coal production and are reversing their past cap and trade policies, which have not worked.

Brazil has discovered massive oil reserves and they plan on developing them for their own use.

India and China have said “thanks but no thanks” to cap and trade, and they feel they have a moral responsibility to improve the standard of living for their people, said Innis.

All these things will overwhelm any possible declines on carbon emissions; so, while the impact on the climate is “dubious” said Innis, “it’s economic impact is more definitive and absolute.”

Of course you count all the costs - in a bogas estimation - but include NONE of the benefits - cherry picking yet again...Just how much do you think we pay into the fossil fuel companies coffes for their polluting toxins???? Look at were we are with the current status quo - thank you, but it is time for a chnge as far as I can see :)

While least responsible for causing climate change, poor people bear the brunt of the impacts. As an international relief and development organization dedicated to finding lasting solutions to poverty and injustice, Oxfam America is campaigning to create equitable solutions to the crisis. We are asking that the US go beyond cutting greenhouse gas emissions by providing financial assistance so that the most vulnerable communities here and abroad can adapt.

find out what YOU can do to help (in Judy's case, she can just keep her head in the sand)

The 'Club of Rome' quote by Judy Cross means nothing. In fact a lot of people would agree human beings are the number one cause of most of the crap conditions on the planet. But a conspiracist reads more into it because they WANT TO.

Who knows what Schneider is talking about? Probably taken out of context but of course it is instant fodder for any conspiracy theorist.

Same with the statement by Wirth.

And who the hell cares who Wirth and Strong are, since ANYONE CAN SAY ANYTHING. Doesn't make it true.

There are nutbars here and there, and there are also people making nutbar statements. Happens all the time. Doesn't make it a 'conspiracy' to 'rule the world'. That is UNPROVEN.

That $1700 ayear figure Judy quotes has been discredited as NOT TRUE or PROVEN elsewhere. But of course it is her scare tactic as well as using blacks and latinos as more scare tactics and victims.

Judy, you don't even know what Nunuvut is in Canada. That says it all.

"The oil and coal companies will make money trading carbon credits. It is Joe Average who will pay for those profits."

Total bull$#it! How can companies make more money off of BUYING carbon credits? That's like claiming we will make money off of buying groceries. Rather, the carbon credits will make using fossil fuels less profitable and encourage us to develop and and start using renewable and non-polluting energy sources much sooner than otherwise.

"The dingbats doesn't understand that the annual cost of at least $1700 per family of 4 will be a heavy burden for most families, especially black and Latino ones."

Liar. It will cost a lot less to build millions of windmills, hydroelectric dams, and solar panels, which could be built almost anywhere and can produce electricity directly without any pollution, than to continue to rely on the digging up, transportation, and refinement of fossil fuels to use them later to produce electricity......and produce waste products that also are a cost for us!
