The European Space Agency is looking for six brave volunteers to sit in locked chamber for 520 days to simulate the isolation of a space flight to Mars, a trip that in real life would take around 900 days.

I just feel we should repair our OWN planet, before infested the others, too.
I'm also suspicious of it being used as an 'escape hatch' for the elite, so they do not have worry about the consequences of their 'dirty' actions.
Just an opinion.....
Namaste [I hope!] xo

Janet, the elitists have their own underground here on earth. In every mountain range on the planet. Giant burrowing machines like the babies that do underground homes in Australia, or the ones used to build the channel tunnel between England and France.USA Airforce has one to burrow out tunnels in which precious paperwork, metals[gold, silver, platinum, etc.] jewels and of course supplies needed to keep souls alive for many years.

They won't live long enough to go mad.

Well, yes--such a mission would probably drive astronauts insane, but it will come to be. Janet is right, the elites will use interplanetary travel as an escape hatch, but Black T is also right that the elites already have prepared some escape hatches. Whatever happens, happens.
