Failure to plan and budget for this in the 90s is an issue now, particularly in the bad economy. Well, we humans tend to be, in large groups anyway, very short-sighted and focused on the present and instant gratification. It does not have to be that way - whole societies have been built and been successful where being thoughtful and deliberative and far-sighted is valued, taught and rewarded. Unfortunately, right now (particularly in the US) we are teaching, role modeling, setting the example for, and living all in the moment, out of greed and overconsumption, and focused on instant gratification. And it's all starting to come back on us - just starting. The full force of our greed and gluttony and selfishness will hit our children and grandchildren and they will be stunned that we cared so little about them, and they'll be right.

I remember too well that last year we had power sharing. Three times a week for how many hours a day without electricity. However, the squatter camps had no power cuts. Some people still get their elictricity free and we have to pay for it. The Escom bosses received huge bonusses, what for, that I can not tell you. The fats cats here are thriving on money they did not earn.

An interesting article and concept I for one was not aware of. An initial start-up of this sort of project would cost everyone, but the tarrifs they were imposing is short of theivery.

Along with how they are funding the project, Miss Chaz, do you think that you could elaborate a bit more on CSP?

INTERESTING PROBLEM LIKE THIS ALL OVER THESE DAYS....PERSONALY,WE NEED MORE OF THESE KIND OF EXPLORATIONS OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES FOR REAL CHEAP ENERGY COMSUMPTION TO HEAT,COOL, COOK, TRANSPORT, MFG CONSUMER PRODUCTS ETC....!THE LAST FEW GENERATION LIVED HIGH OFF THE HOG....NOW THEY AND YOU HAVE TO PAY NOW TO PASS ON TOP OUR CHILDREN....! HOWEVER, THERE ARE MAYBE 30 OR SO OTHER ENERGY SOURCE METHODS BEING STUDIED THAT LOOK SOMEWHAT PROMISING GIVE RESEARCH AND DEMONSTRATION GRANTS AND TAX INCENTIVES....GEOTHERMO IS ONE OF THE BEST NOW..BETTER THAN SUN AND WIND...TO HEAT AND COOL STRUCTURES....HAVE A COUPLE OF FRIENDS WHO STATE THE UP FRONT COST IS SOMEWHAT HIGH BUT IT WILL PAY FOR IT SELF FOR HOME AND FACTORY USE....HAVE FRIENDS WITH SUN SYSTEMS OF ONE TYPE OR ANOTHER AND THEY CLAIM A REDUCTION OF AT LEAST 200 DOLLARS A MONTH ...SOME SELL THE EXCESS...!!
