“ Erroneous reports have circulated that the cats have contracted the Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection while in the PSPCA’s care in Clarion County. When the cats were removed from Tiger Ranch, blood and tissue samples were taken, with many of the samples testing positive for parasites and viruses including Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus, Proteus Mirabilus, Feline Calicivirus, Herpes virus, Bordetella, Mycoplasma Felis and Chlamydophilafelis. ‘Many of these diseases are like MRSA in that they can be resistant to some antibiotics or medical interventions. However, after receipt of a culture and sensitivity from the pathologist we were able to more effectively treat with targeted broader-spectrum antibiotics the resistant staph present at Tiger Ranch,’ said Murarka. ‘The cats did not acquire the diseases at the PSPCA animal hospital. These illnesses were present in the cats from the time they arrived at the hospital from Tiger Ranch. Upon arrival at Clarion, the cats were tested and received immediate treatment.’ ”

Thank goodness someone is caring for these poor guys now. They didn't deserve the horrible life they have had.

Thank you very much End Cruelty.

I am glad the "Erroneous reports" turned out to be just that!

You would love to believe that, Ali O but I have the original email with the headers intact. Lisa Rodgers did report MRSA to me and now they are trying to say it never happened. One more PSPCA LIE.

While we are at asking quetions, why not ask PSPCA what happened to 12 cats deaths not reported in their update. 265-250 = 15. 3 deaths were reported only. Where are the other 12?

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear:

“We continue to be encouraged at the progress these cats have made over the past two-and-a-half-months,” said PSPCA Director of Animal Health Dr. Ravindra Murarka. “They are thriving because they are receiving proper medical attention and care.”

More than 140 cats are NOT thriving. They are dead. They were alive when Lin Marie had them. The PSPCA got hold of them, and they are dead. Most were never given more than a few hours worth of that "proper medical attention and care."

After reading that report I sent a copy to a vet friend of mine. He says that this update was definitely NOT written by a competent veterinarian. He sent me to research some of the listed illnesses. Yep, Felicia, the numbers are not adding up here. Thanks, Katy for pointing that out. Answers anyone?

I have said all along that something was fishy here and this seems to be true. Lin cared for these animals that no one else wanted to bother with, did the best she could with what she had in the way of medicines and assistance. The shame of all this is the fact that some one who might wish to be helpful will shy away in fear of just what has happened to Lin. She is in my prayers everyday.

Some of us wonder how different this whole scenario would have been had Deb Urmann and Dr Morrow reported the FCV to Lin Marie immediately. Those of you who keep harping about 'it's all about the cats' couldn't seriously justify those actions. Had Lin Marie known that she had a possible serious outbreak of FCV, it would stand to reason that she would have halted taking in any more cats until that situation was under control.

Some of us wonder how different this whole scenario would have been had if no one had sent 6,000 cats there in 1 year?:

http://www.wpxi.com/news/16264107/detail.html
In fact, Tiger Ranch's own records show it took in nearly 6,500 cats in 2007, but adopted out only 14.

Some of us wonder what happened to those 6,000 cats sent to Tiger Ranch in 2007...

Oh I know... it's all a lie.

Yes, Infoman, we know, records that, according to reliable sources were maintained by none other than Deb Urmann in between those buttoncam moments. We shall see what the court determines to be facts regarding those infamous records. How about venturing a guess as to the numbers of cats at Clarion.

OH, and while we are at it. When were those kittens born?

Yes, the kittens born at the Clarion Shelter?

http://www.pspca.org/news?id=104&
The PSPCA is caring for 11 kittens born at the Clarion facility in three litters from Tiger Ranch cats.

The update from the PSPCA does not give a birth date as to when the kittens were born.

Are you coming out for the trial? Hope so, I'll be the one doing some interviews. :)

Really hope all is well with you.

Blessings

Funny how they just neglect those tiny little details, kittens birthdates and additional 12 deaths. Everything is super here...shalom....

"Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus, Proteus Mirabilus, Feline Calicivirus, Herpes virus, Bordetella, Mycoplasma Felis and Chlamydophilafelis"

Who is it that can't spell? Dr. Murarka, the outreach director, or that PR firm the PSPCA hired for damage control?

Noted with thanks.
There is an old German Shepherd right now on myspace who was found with his head on his dead owners chest. What a loyal breed. He is an older dog and they state somebody must take him soon or he will be killed. A friend told me I should take him. I have all I can afford. This dog is morning the lose of his human. He may not want to survive and I hate losing my babies. But my point being, the vets charge WAY TOO MUCH and animals are like people and have a right to humane treatment (which means medical treatment) I think it's nice that this woman has such loyal friends. But I'm still siding for the cats. I'm hoping she takes the stand so we can hear all she has to say.

We're hoping she'll take the stand, too. Those of us who support us are siding with the cats, too. They are on the same side. We don't see a conflict there at all. The question will always be, "How many of those 140 cats who are dead at the hands of the PSPCA would have recovered and now be fine or at least on the way to fine had they stayed at Tiger Ranch." They will never have that chance now. It is appalling how many people who have never been to Tiger Ranch, do not know Lin Marie, and have never done rescue on a large scale themselves are willing to jump on the band wagon of people calling her a nasty hoarder, a horrible cat abuser because the PSPCA says so. Yet not one bit of her side of the story has been heard in court. Please think about that before you speak out against her. And please realize, you are not just tearing down Lin. You are also contributing to the death of rescue.

I will always be a true supporter of Tiger Ranch.. Nothing will change my mind.. Lin Marie has done a ton of good for animals.. I just hope she will be able to continue in the future.

I've taken cats and kittens to Tiger Ranch. No guilt. Just a lot of anger that a bunch of people played investigator, judge, and jury in their lives and executed them. Lin Marie gets a trial. Those executed cats did not. And I have a lot of anger about not being able to do anything with the cats I know about that are still out there. Just the other day, I was driving in my town and saw a wagon load of kittens on a street corner. Two little girls, about 6 or 7, were waving the kittens at people driving by, like, "please take a kitten." Had Tiger Ranch still been in operation, I would have stopped and taken all of the kittens. With no Tiger Ranch, all I could do was drive on by and worry about what was going to happen to them. All of you who are in other places passing your opinions about Tiger Ranch have no idea what you are doing.

I should also say here that I have written to Voices for Animals, the primary bunch involved with calling in the Gestapo on Tiger Ranch, and asked them if they would take kittens. Haven't heard a peep out of them.
