American Bald Eagle Makes Comeback Along Pittsburgh's Three Rivers

In the 1970s DDT from farms was killing off the eagles, and the species was endangered. Now the iconic bird is making a comeback -- and a live webcam is showing the eaglets hatching, as logged in Doomwatch Legacy by Sunstroke author David Kagan.

Wow, that's exciting news. I don't recall ever hearing about bald eagles in the area when I was growing up there.

I live in the the other end of Pennsylvania in the north country. When I moved here 18yrs ago no one could recall ever seeing an eagle except a few real oldtimers. Now we see them everyday and they're moving west (like the article says) very quickly.
