Warmer temperatures and earlier melting of sea ice are causing polar bears to go hungry. The number of undernourished bears has tripled in a 20-year period.

This could make sense except that the Arctic Research center at the University of Illinois just reported that based on satellite data, arctic sea ice is back to 1979 levels. They also reported that it grew at the fastest rate ever recorded in 2008.
