How can people do these things?! I heard about this story a few weeks ago and every time that I read it my heart breaks a little bit more. I'm completely losing faith in humanity (apart from all of you from care 2 who care just as much about this.) What few people there are left in the world who love the animals seem to be powerless to stop this cruelty, and those in the judge's chair don't realise just how cruel an act this was!!!

The fact that the kitten was not a human baby does not in any way mean that she did not feel the same horror and pain that a child would have felt, and most likely will feel one day very soon because of the insanely weak laws, not only in New York, but everywhere!! This person will be out in way too short a period of time, and as is a proven fact, will go right back to her horrendous ways!!! WAKE UP, court systems!!! CHANGE THOSE LAWS!!! Place more value on the lives of animals and you will go a long way toward saving the lives of children!! PLEASE!! For those who think she deserves a life sentence, I have to disagree. Not for the reason you think. I worked as a correction officer in Michigan. In the prison I worked, these inmates ate better food and well balanced too, something the majority of people I knew could not afford on their paychecks in the outside world. They never have to work to have their shelter, clothing, food, medical, schooling and entertainment, be it movies, reading, some crafts allowed for some inmates. You get the idea. No a life sentence is too good for her and she will not suffer, unless at the hands of animal loving inmates, we can hope. I say lets hope she decides to take a job inside, prisoners can earn a mere pittance for a days labor to say buy cigarettes if still a smoking allowed prison or for snacks from the prison store. If she does take a job, I recommend she work in the kitchen, where some of the animal loving inmates no doubt work and let them give her a roast she will never get forget. We do have so....many sick minded people in the world and people who don't care about animals at all,even in our gov.,it's very sad!Laws need to be better and people need to be hit where it counts.We need to end all animal cruelity,so we need to kick the law makers,who don't care about welfare of animals to the curb and get good compassionate law makers in,who can help make the difference animals need.The law stands behind alot of cruelity for one reason or another and our kids are being taught its ok.Kick this case where it hurts and maybe the smiles will not be there!

This is a good story for finding new Care2 Friends who are enraged at animal cruelty as you are.

If you go to the "Noted By" area and pass the cursor over the avatar, a description window will pop up.

Sherri O: We do not need to contact any animal loving inmates and there are many. Trust me, the inmates know about all the new guards, inmates and others that will be coming into their turf history weeks before they arrive on the inside. They will know exactly the second she enters the prison and hopefully will give her the welcoming she so fully deserves. And don't forget the guards who also love animlas, some of them may her her to "adjust" to her new surroundings.

I also viewed some pictures on one of these sites where they experiment on animals and there was a 7 0r 9 picture strip of some depraved thing of a person who actually showed putting Zippo lighter fluid on a kitten and lighting it up. The poor thing ran around and when the fire didn't stay lit, they added more accelerate and relit the poor kitten until it fied. Even my mother who is not a cat person said the same thing should be done to that person.
What type of people are these who have children and let them become this anti social?
