If they plan to have pets, then they should care for them. Because in the first place, it was they who decided that they'd buy some and that they wanted some. The welfare and condition of the animals fall entirely on their shoulders.

Ain"t NO DIFFERENT than when folks buy a "bunny" or "ducky" at EASTER for "little Susie"......The "pet" TAKES CARE AND FEEDING......When my 30 gal. fish tank gets over full with Guppies-I must "play god" and take the extra ones to the pet store....I DO NOT GET PAID FOR THEM!!!And I MUST ADD A NEW PAIR every so often to keep the "genetic diversity" intact.....I CERTAINLY DO NOT WANT TO END UP WITH "3 eyed fish"......Most people SHOULD NOT OWN GOLDFISH LET ALONE ANY OTHER LIVING CREATURE.......
