A study of seven terminally ill patients found identical surges in brain activity moments before death, providing what may be physiological evidence of "out of body" experiences reported by people who survive near-death ordeals.

I was found clinically dead about fifthteen years ago.

I do remember a thing about what happened.
I woke up in the hospital after brain surgery.

Had it not been for my son who went to pieces
on the school guard telling her he could not wake
up his mommy. He was only eight & half but had
called his dad & left a note for the paramedics &
one for me telling me he had packed his own lunch.

I still have those notes...........

Thank you Maria, I hope they can continue their research and come to a good answer for the money that is spent on it.

As a retired Home Health Provider 10 yrs Nursing Home 5yrs Home Health 5 yrs Hospice I've seen this numerous times. Many patients spoke with clarity & many have said I'm ready.I've seen pulses race BP's go up etc.Of course not in everyone but definitely more times than not. This always happened just before their passing.

my stepmother was shaking my dad, begging him to stay, and suddenly he sat up, looked right at her and said, "don't shout at me; i'm not deaf", and then he died. that's my dad. still miss him. i know he'd ok.

this proves nothing of the kind, maybe it is the spirit packing its bags to leave...

And the soul weighs 29 grams. I have done alot of reading on the subject of life after death and near death experiences and I am absolutely convinced that our souls do leave our bodies and move onto another dimension. They say it's like walking away from an old car you have used. You don't look back. All your pain is gone and you feel light and you feel the love in the universe through your senses. You can think of some place and instantly transport yourself there. You can travel in space and time. You review your life and other lives by accessing the Akashic Records. They say that what you believe in is what is waiting for you. If you believe in hell and that you were a bad person, you may find yourself in a hell of your own creation. We are all our own judge and jury and see things differently from the other side. I highly recommend John Edward if you want to read more. Ruth Montgomery's books are absolutely spine tingling, at least to me.

Thanks Maria!!!

Loved this article...want more, more, more!!!

Gotta believe that the brain does work right before you die!!! In fact, I saw my Grandmother have a smile on her face right before she died, gotta makes me think her brain was in over drive thinking or seeing something.

Great article...Totally loved it.

this also reminds me of when my step father, who was definitely not a believer in anything, saw his father's soul leave his body through the crown. That could account for the brain activity just before death, because this is where the soul passes out of the body, through the crown chakra.

In connection with my first comment I had
no sense of anything.......Kind of like I did not
exist.

After coming out of the surgery I was all tied
up on a gurney & lefy in front of the nurses
station so they could watch me. As I laid there
I had convinced myself I had murdered my son's
dad & my son. LOL.......Trust me I'd never murder
anyone.......

It was all so strange what happens to the brain
when near dead & then being brought back to
life.

I really don't care to think about death & dying
too much............

B. M. I bet you just don't remember. You should get hypnotized and go back to see what you experienced. The subconcious mind is very powerful in shielding us from things we don't want to remember. I bet you had a very pleasant passing, but maybe you weren't supposed to remember. Did your life change after that? Most who have NDEs say their lives change drastically.

My mother was once hypnotized when I was just little. She didn't believe in anything, had been raised Lutheran. But under hypnosis she recounted a lifetime in Israel and spoke hebrew during the regression. In another regression she recounted some time spent on Mars between lifetimes. This was in 1961. She described the planet as red, but they didn't know it was red yet! It came out about a year later that Mars is red!

When my grandpa the cattle rancher wheat farmer from Nebraska was dying, he had a cardiac arrest and was gone for a minute or two. He said he heard the most beautiful music and saw someone who had passed on. This was a man who only believed what he could see, touch, hear and smell. After that, he changed a bit, started being more open minded.
