A DOG warden said the emaciated condition of two dogs found in a Burnley mother-of-three's home was the worst she had ever seen. Jane Grady said the two crossbred dogs, kept in a cage in Nicola Tattersall's kitchen, were "all skin and bone",

I am so shocked that someone can let their beloved pets get down to this sad state of affairs... they should never be allowed to own any animals ever again

Why do people do this? Are they taking their anger towards the world out on an innocent being or what? How can someone walk by their pets cage everyday probably several times a day and not feel something!!
Someone needs to lock her in a cage for a while!
Thanks Maria

The sad excuses for their actions and the pitifully small fine tend to support the idea that the judiciary do not take animal cruelty seriously. Readers outside the UK may be interested to see the "victim surcharge" applied to the penalties another knee jerk government action to appease the army of victims who get little if any compensation from their attackers. As with all things political this charge is levied on those who have a fine for anything from speeding to assaults and is of course the typical one size fits all tariff which neither hurts the perp or compensates the victim simply another level of bureaucratic nonsense! In practice a mugger gets the same levy as a pensioner who has not paid there council tax! Many perps are apparently not getting charged because computor listed details don't tally! Really this perp should have been banned permanently from having animals and charged the costs of bringing the proscecution which likely ran into thousands not the paltry tarif amount charged! It's high time animal cruelty was taken seriuosly as it is often an indicator of other criminal and anti social behaviours and the question I would be asking is how does this person treat her thre children and should not social services be investigating that side of the coin. If you can starve dogs that are in a cage in your kitchen what sort of treatment do you give your kids or are they in a hutch in the garden!

WTF...I dont understand this! It's simple if you cant look after any animal rather take it to a shelter of give it away! Why have these poor caged up and let them starve! U know all they want is food, water and love! How difficult can this be! Does she do the same to her children! Sick man you deserve to rot in hell

We snobbishly brag ourselves as the noblest creature of all, we curse those who harm us, and yet we continue to lower ourselves down by allowing ourselves to abuse others.

I wish we can all learn to condone our hyprocrisy.
