Burroughs often feeds a group of stray cats that live in the woods behind her apartment. The kitten, named Sweetie, showed up a couple of weeks ago, completely healthy. Burroughs heard it crying Halloween night and found it had been abused.

Growing up we cats and dogs,etc...and always had at least one black cat in the bunch.same with my granny who lived next door.
Every year we HAD to bring our cats in,because people would take them and do all kinds of stuff to them.
So people PLEASE,PLEASE if you own a black cat or even see a stray black cat out on Halloween BRING IT INSIDE!

When I had cats..I never let any of them out..just healthier for them..But with all of the sick cruel people out there..even more reason to keep them safe inside..

Very sad that they do this..
Thanks Maria..

PSPP is asking for donations and an eventual adopter for 8-week old Sweetie, a Persian-Domestic Long Hair mixed breed kitten who was doused with an acid-like substance on Halloween. Tragically, black cats and kittens are at risk on this particular holiday when they are all-too-often victimized by cruel people.

To help us defray medical costs for Sweetie's chemical burns, please use the PayPal option shown at the bottom of this page ("Other Ways You Can Help") and note that your contribution is for "Sweetie's Fund." You can also send a check to PeachState Pet Partners, P.O. Box 1717, Demorest, Georgia 30535. (Should the contributions exceed Sweetie's total medical costs, the remainder will go to help us provide veterinrary care to our other special needs animals.)

Click on Sweetie's photo to learn more about her, and be sure to check back for updates on her condition. People interested in adopting her should contact her foster "mom" at dsmithcallahan@gmail.com to request an adoption application.

I would like to "adopt" whoever did this for a few minutes.... Anyone who does something like this to any creature deserves an a$$ whoopin. ESPECIALLY to a BABY.

Noted with tears.
