Puppy No. 199287 arrived at the City of Memphis Animal Shelter on Aug. 18, described in paperwork as a friendly pit bull-Lab mix. Marked "hold for court" in an animal-cruelty case, the white puppy with black spots weighed 23 pounds.

how difficult is it to feed an animal....they are living, breathing beings with needs similar to us...I just don't get it....:(

This is not just abuse of animals, it is a deliberate torture taken by people who knew better AND were paid to protect and care for them. To me this is worse than an ignorant and uncaring pet owner. It is especially bad because animals were to be kept for prosecution evidence allowing perps to walk free.

I hope that the courts take all of this into account when sending them to prison for as long as possible.
