"The new ban—an amendment to Mexico's wildlife law—will eliminate the parrot and guacamaya market completely."

GOOD!

I have said this before and will say it again: as much as I love the birds living with me, I would gladly give up the "right" to have more in the future if it meant that NO bird was ever again captured and dragged from its home in the wild, AND no birds already living in captivity were forced to breed and have their babies stolen and sold for profit. I would gladly accept a ban like that in the US, and praise the government of Mexico for taking this bold, ground-breaking step, just as the government of Spain recognized and codified the rights for primates recently.

It's about time!

Once again I can only say I hope they win their case.
