Stand with us online and at the Motorola Shareholder Meeting
Photo shows one of Motorola's high-tech surveillance systems on Palestinian Land being confiscated by an illegal Israeli settlement

Wether you'll be standing with us outside of the Rosemont Theater protesting at the Motorola shareholder meeting, at a solidarity demonstration in your local area or just going about your daily routine on Monday, May 4th, stand with us online by sending emails to Motorola CEO, Greg Brown and VP for Investor Relations, Dean Lindroth.

Use the template below to let these masters of Moto know how you feel about their choice to profit from abuses of Palestinian human rights and violations of international law. Personalize the email, if you like, fill in your information and click "send my message."

Now, that Motorola is denying that their decision to sell Motorola Israel, Ltd's bomb fuze division had anything to do with our campaign, is the time to redouble our efforts and send Motorola's officers a powerful message about their corporate responsibility to uphold international law and human rights

Motorola Complicity in Israeli International Law Violations

It has been brought to my attention that Motorola Inc., and your fully owned subsidiary Motorola Israel provides and produces products and services which are used to sustain Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian territories.

I urge Motorola, Incorporated and its wholly-owned subsidiary Motorola Israel, Limited to discontinue providing products and services which have been used to further Israel’s illegal military occupation and apartheid practices in East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. This includes a request for your subsidiary, MIRS, to stop providing services that normalize the system of “Jewish only” settlements on land that, under international law, belongs to Palestinians.

I appreciate that Motorola Israel Ltd’s recent sale of the Government Electronics Department (GED) shows the Motorola family is distancing itself from some of the most objectionable products that are knowingly used in violations of international law and human rights conventions. However, I am concerned that the GED sale does not substantially absolve Motorola of its responsibility for abuses, including those that took place during the recent “Operation Cast Lead,” committed against Palestinian civilians.

Prior to Motorola Israel’s sale of the GED, shrapnel bearing Motorola serial numbers was found by Human Rights Watch researchers amongst the rubble at the cite of a destroyed Gaza police station that was hit by a bomb dropped by an Israeli UAV. This is troubling because under international law, municipal police officers are civilians under the laws of war. The US Campaign and our allies have already alerted you to a similar situation, when an Mark 84 bomb – the same kind that used fuzes produced by the GED, was dropped on a civilian shelter in Qana, Lebanon. I am are deeply troubled by this pattern of Motorola fuzes being used to bomb civilians. I am even more troubled that the purchaser of the GED is Aeronautics Defense Systems (ADS), which produces the very type of drones that dropped the bomb on the police station in Gaza. I am further troubled that Motorola Israel has ongoing collaboration with ADS, via the “Stronghold Surveillance System” and microprocessors for ADS UAV GPS systems used by the Israeli military.

I am also deeply troubled by Motorola’s contracts to provide communications, and surveillance equipment to the Israeli government and settlement groups involved in abuses of Palestinian human rights and violations of international law. Specifically, I would like Motorola to end its sale to Israel of the following products:

• The “Mountain Rose” or Vered Harim communications system – this enables the kind of coordination necessary to perform military incursions like “Operation Cast Lead”
• The “Wide Area Surveillance System” and the “Stronghold Surveillance System” – protects illegal Israeli buildings on Palestinian property, including the apartheid wall and Jewish-only settlements
• Microprocessors for UAV GPS components – these can be used for either surveillance and movement-control purposes or aerial weapons delivery against Palestinian civilians

I sincerely hope that you will take expedient action to end Motorola’s support for documented human rights abuses and violations of international law. Until that time, I will not purchase another Motorola product and will do my best to encourage my friends, mobile phone retailers and service providers to distance themselves from your products and services. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter and I look forward to your reply.

Message sent. Thanks Cheryl.

Thank you for letting Motorola's decision makers know that you're not going to support their profiteering from human rights abuses and violations of international law in Israel/Palestine.

It would be more productive to petition Motorola to OPEN another Motorola division somewhere in the West Bank or Gaza, so that people there could have their chance to earn good living and improve their lives. Why do you want to destroy something, instead of creating a new good thing? This unfortunate motif is so typical for the Arab-Israeli conflict, but may be it's time to break the cycle and become constructive?

http://www.care2.com/c2c/people/profile.html?pid=819941903 made april 16 no friends nadda.
Motorola is helping to destroy, oh yes perhaps they can put together letters and petitions for Motorala to supply Hamas and Palstinians with material for bombs, and, cameras for WHAT? GETTIng IDF, israeli human rights abuses on camera has had little effect so far except getting some of the filming out to the world,

I don't think the world would want to sign such letters or petition, however, those for Palestine and self defence and resistance sure would. you make a good point

As for the west bank, Israel wants to provide employment/tourist parks for Palestinians to work in, not a Palestinian state, your comment smacks of Israeli
now which TROLL are you? one that keeps returning SASCHO.JOSH/ALEX/ROGER or a new one, you say Canada, SASCHO.JOSH/ALEX/ROGER used that on last profile.

there are many care2 members who are only pro-israeli, as in anything israel does is the right thing, also those who support both israel and palestine so you lie. it is pro Palestine and their right to choose their government, not israel, not canada, not the USA OR EU. many petitions have been made for care2 members that have been suspended or banned over the years .

You made the same statement with another profile several days ago an ansswer was left for you by someone, actually there is about 4-7 of us not 20-25, so off again,

you are here for trolling, so far you are sascho/josh/alex/roger/mohamad/ oh you made another profile the other day as well I saw, I can;t remember the name of that one.

what are you using an isp blocker or changer, I saw them on the jidf site.

no, I have people on my friends list from Israel and their accounts are not suspended. and I have posted on many topics over the years and on/off for PALESTINE. so you lie again.

Hi Cheryl,

Trolls are so pathetic... they don't have a life... such cowards... but you have to admit, they're really good at sinking their own boats :)

Anyway, thank you for ALL you do, Cheryl ! :)

"Yes Cheryl, by request of "supporters of Free speech" my account was deleted. Now you can continue the topic unchallenged." What a tool. I beg to differ, Past Member/joshco/Sashko and G-D knows who else, your account was deleted, AGAIN, because you misrepresent yourself. You have no credibility. You actually demonstrate, way better than any of us could adequately describe, the unbridled sense of entitlement and belief of being better than everyone else that is so necessary to being a ZIONAZI.

Noted and action taken. Thanks Cheryl.

I said TROLLS are pathetic. Since you replied to that, does this mean you are one? :)
I don't know what you mean by people changing their names to make them Western-like. Give an example.
And where are all the Islamists you talk about??
But why am I talking to a Past Member? It feels like talking to a ghost.

Brigitte, what do you mean under TROLL? Why did you call them cowards and which boat are they sinking?

I know some people called me a Troll too, because I didn't bother to fill in my profile after my account was deleted a number of times by moderators under Islamists' pressure.

I won't tell you names, but please pick any article posted here that rejects Israel right to exist and denies any link of Jews to The Land of Israel in Palestine, and you will see who I am talking about.

Looks like you are talking to me (Sashco) and I am neither Troll, nor ghost.

Do you guys have meetings? I have noticed of late the newest technique of marginalizing free expression of critique with regards to the terrorist, apartheid state of Israel is to refer to the critics as Hezbollah/Hamas supporters when all we have done is been outspoken with regards to the willful slaughter of women and children along with other innocent civilians. Nice try.

Pressing the moderators hard is your technique, I refer to the JIDF. Point one finger and three point straight back. All I've ever said is fill a profile if you are a real person and come clean with who you are but of course that would go against your real purpose in being here wouldn't it? Your a control freak and now the owner's of Care2 are "Islamist co-conspirators."

As for admitting your trollness, I'm grateful for your candor and thank you for exposing the great "Islamist" conspiracy. Every time you make a comment you demonstrate better than any of us ever could describe your overwhelming sense of entitlement as being above everyone else.

"supporters of Free speech" my account was deleted. Now you can continue the topic unchallenged" Fair comment ! but others have called us anti semetic because we are critical of Israeli authoritive actions.
So josh as you dissaporove, what would you do, if you were aware of the disintrigartaion of a country by another country? we consider boycotting a countries products, as a means of non aversive or non violent resistance or a method of complaint. An option would be for the oppressing country to negotiate with those who felt oppressed unconditionally. We have seen over the years that the opressor will not do this. the other option is for war which nobody wants.I totally agree it would be benificial for the people of gaza and the west bank to become involved with the current world trading and have trade ect but the conditions appear to them, that they have to do this or else continue suffering. to ask a people of such a strong faith to submit to this, would be considered as asking them to surrender.I ask Would Netenyahu and his team really offer any terms like this ? they seem only to be concerned with creating a jewish state. which in itself is what we would consider a racsist ideology. perhaps you and many other isralie supporters would offer an olive branch but those who run the show believe their military strengh gives them the right to continue this abomnable and eventually self disctructive path. The opening trade routes is one of the issues that Hammas has been asking for.

Pete, anyone can critisize any country, as long as the critique is fair. Fair critique mean that the same criteria apply to all countries. If this equality is missing, the critique becomes a libel, and I am opposing libel.

You are right and trade breaks barriers, but Hamas with its program of eilinating Israel and genocide of the Jews is not a trade partner. Nobody wants to trade with a person who waits for the good moment to attack and kill you.
