Tracey Connelly is the mother of Baby P,who died following months of torture and abuse. Her boyfriend and his brother subjected the infant to hell.Such abuse and neglect from her own childhood, must be challenged, but it can never excuse .

Some people should just NOT be allowed to breed. Being a parent is a wonderful privilege, not a right.

Myself and billions of other people were abused as children; I have not only NOT abused others but fight for the rights of children, abused/vulnerable adults, and of course, for the rights of animals. NO EXCUSES IS RIGHT - OF ALL THE HUMAN BEINGS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH, WE ABUSE-SURVIVORS KNOW WE HAVE *NO* EXCUSES FOR ABUSING OTHERS, END OF STORY.

p.s. My paternal "grandfather" [sic] violated me as a tiny child. My parents and others were loving, caring people, but in those days everything was automatically covered up - no intervention, no legal consequences - NOTHING. However, I was a little kid in the early 1950s, much longer ago than when the perpetrators in this heinous brutal murder were 'kids.' Again: NO EXCUSES.

Thanks Panda. Unnnnnnnbelievable. This trio are not only a danger to children, but to anyone who comes into contact with them. As for social services, they should also be held accountable.

"I don't know a more irreligious attitude, one more utterly bankrupt of any human content, than one which permits children to be destroyed."-- Daniel Berrigan

"When Peter died there were more than 22 injuries on his body, a fingernail and toenail were missing, having been ripped out in some form of torture, his earlobe was torn and his spine had been fractured by being hyperextended over his cot or someone's knee." Now it's too late. This won't be fixed by punishing the perpetrators. Now it's a warning for all of us to keep an eye on our surroundings and intervene whenever necessary.

Correction...Christoph Wuth...there were over sixty separate injuries to Peter when he died...the fact that he had lived with broken ribs and a broken back for so long defies all reason.

When one reads the tragic story of the mother's life and how she was conceived by a man paid to impregnate her mother who was so addicted to drink that her daughter was neglected...and again the welfare state didn't pick up on it before she went on to have four more children including this poor little Peter...the whole story is a tragedy that is repeated time and again...we do not seek to excuse the terrible crimes committed against this little one but we do need to get hold of deprivation and tune up the ways of spotting future mothers like this one.

It is a dreadful thing to say but...poor little Peter was better off dead than having to endure one more hour of the torment that was his life...the three adults that did this are despicable objects...I hope they are never released back into society...although they too are victims in their own right.

Yes the same patterns in a family seem to fall down onto the next generation.. One must always strive to change those ... by making a conscious effort to bring their children up better, and to be a better parent than their own parents...
