Yes, I too had read of this island before. I'm not sure what can be done. Fareed Zakaria has a weekly show and I consider him to be most intelligent. He had a on guest with expertise on China and the two of them spoke that China is building a new coal plant every two weeks. Coal being one of the most dirty souces of fuel and while our consumption in the USA of coal actually dropped China's consumption is rising and has already surpassed our usage. By 2030 China will be burning more coal than the entire world combined. As is the case with so much in this world, those who do the least harm seem to take the most fallout of the bad.

Yeah, sadly islands in the Pacific and elsewhere who have the least to do with climate change are the first ones to suffer from the irresponsible, greedy greenhouse emissions behaviour and lifestyles of the wealthy countries. Salt water is already coming up through the ground and watertable so that crops and vegetables can't be grown. Wish the greenhouse-emitting world would wake up and change, that is for sure.
