Who's Sexist Now?

US Politics & Gov't  (tags: united states, election, democrats, hillary clinton, sexism )

While we do live in a world full of ugly sexism, we also have many other evils to worry about, so it's wrong to assume that it's a woman's duty to support Hillary Clinton, especially when she can be just as bellicose as the most testosterone-addled male.

"It's a compelling story line -- and it's also wrong. It's wrong for assuming that women, as a group, share a unified set of political views, and doubly wrong for the underlying assumption that women should automatically favor female political candidate"

By the way, Golda Meier, Indira Ghandi, Benazhir Bhutto, Shirley Chisolm and Margaet Thatcher never complained about sexism…

I am a woman who feels her duty is NOT to vote for HC.

She is a very MACHO woman, and her remark about how she'd 'handle' Iran is just one example.

And all those so-called feminists who are crying now about how poor (!) Hillary has got a raw deal because she's a woman just make me sick ! These are the same ones who blocked dissent from their posts on the greater glory of 'their' candidate, the ol' testosterone-addled Hill. And aren't in the least troubled by her Karl-Rove tactics against Barack.

As I commented somewhere else today, Hilary Clinton doesn't make me proud of being a woman, but Barack Obama makes me proud of being a human being.

Now, if Arundhati Roy was running, it would be different.

Noted. Thank you.

I joined NOW many years ago so I would be assured of my civil rights. I choose to support Barack Obama. I resent those who now condemn because I've made a decision based on facts; not gender or race.
