A Message from Ex-Muslims to Muslims:

Please, if you are a Muslim, leave the horrors of Islam and join the rest of humanity to advocate real peace. Please visit WWW.FAITHFREEDOM.ORG, a site maintained by ex-muslims who have worked hard to expose Islam. A prize money of $50,000 is offered to anyone who can prove the ex-muslims wrong in their statements; so far no-one has been able to...

I knew the women had it bad over there but I didn't realize how horribly they were treated, cut, abused and killed. This is horrendous!

We are each the product of our upbringing - yet at some point it is possible to turn our back on that which we were told was appropriate behavior, and take a hard look at how we think and treat others, and see that it is wrong and needs to change. I hold these women in a heartspace with the most profound hope that change will come - soon!

The Violent Oppression of Women in Islam
By FrontPage Magazine
FrontPageMagazine.com | Monday, October 22, 2007

The new video from the David Horowitz Freedom Center, The Violent Oppression of Women in Islam, is a graphic, nightmarish, and profoundly unsettling glance into the darkest recesses of our fellow man. Narrated by Nonie Darwish, this film accurately depicts the dehumanizing theology, brutal abuse, and degredation that comprise the daily lives of millions of women in the fascist portions of the Islamic world -- arcing like a crescent from sub-Saharan Africa, through Iran, to north-central Asia and reaching into hidden pockets of the United States. These acts include the honor killing of a seven-year-old girl, beheaded for having been the victim of sexual abuse; gang-rapes, occasionally perpetrated by family members, to punish women who refuse to wear the hijab; the regular marriage of grown men to nine-year-old girls, in imitation of Islam's founder, Muhammad; genital mutilation of infant girls to destroy their sexual pleasure and objectify them as outlets for the gratification of man's lust; the widespread, often public practice of wife-battery, a practice justified by the Koran; public stonings for violations of Shari'a law; and sadly, much, much more.Taken together, the images of this video are a grotesque and disturbing assault on the integrity of women. Under no circumstances should they be viewed by children.

However realistic the film, it is immeasurably less grotesque and disturbing than the daily lives of millions of women subject to Islamo-Fascist regimes. Only the insulated nature of the Islamic world, and the silence and acquiescence of Western feminists, allow this situation to continue. This silence is the greatest hope of Islamo-Fascism and the primary reason Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week is vitally needed: to end this misogynistic tyranny and allow all the world's inhabitants to experience the miracle of human dignity. This is precisely why there has been such a massive outcry against Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. The national campaign to censor or subvert this educational program has involved the entire spectrum of enemies we face -- Islamo-Fascist theocrats on the extreme "right" to the Revolutionary Communist Party on the radical Left, both charter members of the Unholy Alliance that sees the United States as the world's Great Satan. Between the two poles are aspiring mainstream Arab "civil rights" organizations that apologize for terrorism and the theocratic strongmen who finance it.

To combat the horrors of this video, relieve the suffering of millions of Arabs worldwide, and alert Americans to the nature of the enemy, Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week commences this week, hosting 37 separate events or panelists on 26 college campuses. Nationally known experts, such as Robert Spencer and David Horowitz, will detail for thousands of college students the comprehensive assault on the human person Islamo-Fascism embodies. More then 100 years ago, the book Uncle Tom's Cabin exposed the indignities of chattel slavery. The educational events of Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week modestly seek to enlighten the nation's youth about the incalculable costs of Islamic extremism. Silence is Islamo-Fascism's greatest ally; after viewing this film, every incensed conscience will scream that silence can no longer be tolerated.

THIS IS NOTHING NEW
WOMEN HAVE BEEN MURDERED CRIPPLED ACID THROWN IN THEIR FACES MUTILATED STONED BEATEN HUNG
Is it the core tenet of islam? no it is not
women irregardless of religion everywhere are abused. howver itis unfortunately partcicularly grievous iunder shariah law because women have virtually no legal recourse.
some women prurposely go into jails for protection. one outof every three asian men in a bbc review said honour killings was acceptable so? where does that leave women in that culture?

I had not idea that women there are beaten that bad, and that they are even killed. It's so sad that there is no compassion from these men, and women are treated like an object that has not feelings. Just breaks my heart.

Islam is a "multiculture" built from captured cultures; it is just like the Roman Empire, and was very likely created as competition to the 2nd Roman culture, or the Roman Church. What is Istambul was the center of Rome after the fall of "Roman Rome."

Muslim expansion has been a take-over expansion that captures and converts tribal native faiths, much as Christian missionaries do. From the 9/11 experience, I cannot but help think that the US is a religious take-over target for the traditional Muslims.

Still -- from bad comes good, and a restoration the basic faiths that were captured by Islam through war may allow Islam to leave it's war-like capturing for a centralized controlling culture.

Over 5000 women and girls are killed every year by family members in so-called 'honour killings', according to the UN. These crimes occur where cultures believe that a woman's unsanctioned sexual behaviour brings such shame on the family that any female accused or suspected must be murdered. Reasons for these murders can be as trivial as talking to a man, or as innocent as suffering rape.

Stop Stoning Forever Campaign

Send this petition to:
The Head of Judiciary
The Head of Parliament

Subject:
Petition to Eradicate the Law of Stoning

Petition:
To: His Excellency Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi
Cc: Mr. Golam-Ali Haddad-Adel, the leader of the Iranian Parliament

The act of punishing people by stoning them to death in today’s world is such an unacceptable and inhuman act of brutality that even the members of the government are ashamed of admitting to doing it, and have publicly denied that this merciless practice takes place in Iran. Despite the government’s denial, this penalty is a sanctioned part of the Islamic Penal Code of Iran and it is being carried out without any legal obstacles.

We, the undersigned are extremely alarmed that the punishment of stoning to death has been adopted by the country’s legal system as a reasonable and acceptable form of retribution. Although, in December of 2002, your Excellency placed a ban on carrying out this type of sentence, in reality stonings have continued to take place in different parts of the country. In May 2006, in the city of Mashhad, a woman Mahboubeh M. and a man Abbas H. were both stoned to death.

Prior to carrying out the stoning, prior to their death, these two people were treated as if they were dead. In accordance with the Islamic tradition, their bodies were washed as if they were lifeless corpses, and wrapped in the kafan or white shroud. Then their wrapped bodies were buried in the ground, Mahboubeh’s body was buried up to her shoulders, and Abbas was buried up to his waist. The crowd, who had gathered to stone the two to death slowly as specified by law, then targeted them with their stones. All this took place without any mention of it in the public media of the country.

Apart from the above mentioned two cases, at least eleven people, nine women and two men as listed below have been condemned to be stoned to death. Their situation is grave. It is also possible that there are other people who have been condemned to death by stoning and we are not aware of it.

1 Ms. Parisa A. (Adel Abad Prison, Shiraz)
2 Ms. Kobra N. (Tabriz Prison, Tabriz)
3 Ms. Kheireyeh V. (Sepidar Prison, Ahwaz)
4 Ms. Iran A. (Sepidar Prison, Ahwaz)
5 Ms.Malak (Shamameh) Ghorbani (Orumieh Prison, Orumieh)
6 Ms.Hajieh Esmailvand (Jolfa Prison, Jolfa)
7 Ms.Soghra Molawyi (Varamin Prison, Varamin)
8 Ms.Ashraf Kallhori (Evin Prison, Tehran)
9 Ms. Fatemeh (Tehran)
10 Mr.Abdollah Farivar (Sari Prison, Sari)-Male
11 Mr. Najaf A. (Abdel-Abad Prison, Shiraz)-Male

According to Article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, signed and ratified by Iran in 1975, “in countries which have not abolished the death penalty, sentence of death may be imposed only for the most serious crimes”. Article 7 of the same covenant states that “No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment or punishment.” Despite ratifying the above covenant, the Islamic penal code gives the judges the right to sentence the accused to death by stoning even when the crime of adultery has not been proved according to the same penal code’s standards and requirements. Article #105 of the Islamic penal code gives the judges the absolute right to condemn the accused to death by stoning solely based on the judge’s subjective interpretation of the case.

We the undersigned demand and stress the need to change all laws contrary to human rights. We believe there are no crimes that deserve the punishment of stoning to death and we insist that this inhumane practice should be abolished forever.

This violence is not Islam! It is media submissions like these that overshadow the good in Islam. I am not Muslim but this is NOT Islam. Just as any religion can be coopted by evil people this has happened in abundance in Islam but it seems to be even more abundant because of the media. It has happened in abundance in Christianity too, imho. I would suggest reading the book, The Faith Club by Ranya Idliby, Suzanne Oliver and Priscilla Warner. They also have a great bibliography in their book. Cultural opression of women in Islamic countries, is not the same as Islamic opression! Educate yourselves!

This is currently in the news. This is also a message from the ex-muslims to muslims. You may leave your comments and feelings about it. You may also either accept it or reject it. However, I wish everyone will investigate deeper in this matter instead of making assumptions or what they currently perceive based on personal beliefs or understanding. Evidence-Based Inquiries & Investigation is the based way to determine what is the real truth. Thanks.

Nick, have you ever met any moderate Muslims? Have you ever taken the time to get to know Islam for yourself? Or do you just believe what the (very biased) media tells you? I'm very disappointed in this news submission. I'm not saying violence doesn't exist but anyone who commits violence in the name of this or any other religion is not following it genuinely.

Nick Josh Karean (302)
Thursday November 8, 2007, 8:04 pm
I live in a Muslim country Sarah. For security reasons, I'm not going to disclose which one. And I have studied Islam and all the other religions of the world including their religious book for more than 20 years now. I think I know enough how it works, though you may still think I don't. Actually, anyone who commits violence in the name of Islam is indeed following it genuinely. However, to them, it is just fulfilling the Islamic law as how Allah would want it. It is only considered violence for those who don't understand Islam and its law. Moderate Muslims are the ones who is not following Islam genuinely. Therefore, you see the illusion of goodness in the religion. But in fact, you are only seeing the good in them individually.

Religion is not the reason why people are good and bad. People are naturally either good or bad from their personal experience and upbringing. Good people give religion the compliment it needs, while the bad ones use religion for their advantage. Most religions of the world originally had motives to control human beings for some purpose or another. Either way, whether it was a good motive or a bad one, people can either choose to be good or bad without the aid and trickery of religion.

"If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed." ~ Albert Einstein

I have not seen this video but as a convert to Islam, and a Muslim women I would condemn anyone who was cruel or abused women and children. Islam has never condoned abuse of any living creature.
This video sounds like propaganda to justify Islam being a cruel faith. Religion is not the reason people commit atrocities against another human being, it is because they are by nature or nuture bad people.

Nick you could study Islam for a 1000 years and still be convinced we are cruel and barbaric!

Allah guides to Islam whom he wills. It is also Allah who turns hearts in any direction. You can only become Muslim if you are guided to the faith. It is a calling and a way of life and the most beautiful of faiths.

But Allah also seals the hearts of non believers. I could debate with you for eternity if you hate religion be happy with what you have... rather than trying to paint a negative picture of Islam

My dear hart never think you are better than others. Listen to their sorrows with compassion. If you want peace, don't harbor bad thoughts do not gossip and don't teach what you do not know.

Yes, a typical response from most muslims. I could show you all the verses in the Quran that promotes violence and force, and still you won't believe it because that's how religion programs people. Just let me know if you're interested, and I'll show you, which I doubt you will because faith is a lot stronger that science, reason and rationality when comes to religion and its victims.

Everyone has the right to believe in whatever they want to believe as long they don't physically harm others in the name of their beliefs. And please understand that, as much as you have the right to feel the way you do and spread your beliefs for what you think is right, we have the right to feel and spread ours for the same reasons as well. And, as much as you have the right to criticize our views, we have the right to criticize yours, again, for the same reasons as well. No one should be silenced by the other.

If you represent a certain belief, you have nothing to fear no matter what is said about your beliefs, and you also have nothing to worry about no matter who is challenging your beliefs because truth does not demand belief. Truth is self-evident. You just need to come up with a valid answer, if you have one. There is no reason to get offended, mad, aggressive or emotional. We see aggression as a form of weakness and dishonesty or an excuse to hide something. So meanwhile, let us agree to disagree, while allowing people to decide for themselves who and what they wish to accept based on the criticisms, possibilities and/or evidence provided. Thank you.

"Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down, down. Amen! If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it." ~ Dan Barker, ex-Christian preacher and musician for 17 years.

Nick, you do have the right to free speech and to your beliefs but I feel that what you are promoting is propaganda and hatred. You will be feeding the fire for anyone who wants to stereotype and promote prejudice. It is obvious that you have a problem with religion...you talk about ex-Muslims and quote an ex Christian. I'm sad for you that you cannot see the beauty that religion can offer. There are evil people inside and outside religion just as there are good inside and out. It is not religion that is bad. But as you will not change my view of the beauty and goodness religions have to offer, I will obviously not change yours as you pointed out.

it is not just islam, it is every male religion on this planet that does not respect women. all of them have parts in them how to treat a woman so bad, that she is doing what her " owner" wants. and it is everywhere too, in islamic countries, as well as in asian countries( in china if a man wants to sleep with his wife and she doesn't want to, she gets acid in her face and dies, in india they burn the brides and the widows, in afrika if the husband dies, the family makes the woman marry for the profit of the family, they sell their sisters and daughters, the christians burned and tortured woman for thousands of years, the religious jewish women are more or less birthing maschines, they marry the man the family wants if they are lucky, they will be asked before they marry, they have to work tireless for the happiness and the freetime of their husbands and to make the husband happy, nomatter how unhappy they are, i tell you it is in every male religion. men want to rule, they don't want partners, the want to be worshiped and in all male religions they only respect another male with a bigger sexual organ, everything else has to be destroyed.this is why i don't follow any male religion and never did, either!!!

Nick,
While I understand you prefer to use evidence based scientific procedures, this is a matter of the heart. Someone recently tried to ask me where is my heart on an issue....and I replyed it is in balance, therefore,I didn't like the use of extreme posters of dogs being injured (for example)to show that animals should be treated nicely and humanely. I agree with others that videos like that above, add to the propaganda, and rather POSITIVE,LOVEING,affimative photographs are best. I have read books pertaining to Islam, and for a more realistic viewpoint of Islam and its culture as a whole, SAUDI ARAMCO WORLD magazine .
