The worst whalers are the Japanese. The most liberal state is Hawaii. Therefore Hawaiians oppose whaling. Many Hawaiians are Japanese, and they oppose whaling.

So we need to ask Japanese-Americans to ask Japan to stop the brutalty.

May G-d bless their honerable venture. May the Japonese be cured of their cruelty. May the powers of truth, beaty and goodness overwhelm those who intend to create treason and sedition on paradice. May they taste the sword of providence...

I'm sure anyone reading my comment will want to blast me out of the water, however, violence begets violence. It is my perception that greenpeace in it's action is following a less radical method, that is non violent, and I pray they willl be successful in their efforts. Despite my position I do not wish to see these magnificent mammels harmed either.

Violette when the Sea Shepherd rams a ship they do it to cause damage to the ship and NOT to the people on board. They have done it many times and know what they are doing. It is called non-violent direct action which includes the sabotage of equipment. All the great movements used it even the sufragettes who won you the right to vote.

WATCHING THEM KILL THE WHALES IS NOT GOING TO STOP THEM! SOMETIMES IT TAKES VIOLENCE TO STOP VIOLENCE!

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society says it will physically stop the hunt by ramming whaling vessels if necessary. Hey--I'll donate to them!

We're not going down there to protest; we're going down to directly intervene and put an end to this criminal behaviour.

Karli Thomas from the environmental group Greenpeace, said they were determined to stop the hunt once the fleet reached the Southern Ocean, but would not go to the same lengths as Sea Shepherd."So that means putting ourselves between the harpoon and the whales, preventing them from taking a shot, and being able to save individual whales from the harpoon.

Humpback whales have been protected under a 1966 worldwide moratorium after years of overhunting.

Japan, which argues that whale meat is part of its culture, planned to kill 950 whales on the five-month mission using a loophole in a global moratorium that allows lethal research on the giant mammals.

Australia, Britain and New Zealand have condemned the decision to go ahead with the catch.

Went to their website and IT'S NOT TRUE.......http://www.seashepherd.org/news/media_071120_2.html

We have never rammed a Japanese whaler, we have never said we will ram a Japanese whaler and we have never implied that we will ram a Japanese whaler," said Captain Paul Watson. "Last year the Japanese rammed our ship twice. In 2006 we sideswiped the Japanese supply ship causing absolutely no damage. It is the Japanese that deploy ramming as a tactic."

In fact it was the Japanese ship that rammed the Sea Shepherd vessel Robert Hunter. The ramming has been investigated by the Australian federal police and during the forensic investigation the police pointed out that the evidence backs up the Sea Shepherd position that the Japanese did the ramming. The support beams in the bow are bent forward because the whaler struck the Robert Hunter at an angle from behind. If it was the Robert Hunter that had rammed the Japanese vessel, the support beans would have been bent backwards.

This is the 2nd time I have checked out a story and and it wasn't true. Just like the Cheney impeachment vote...I actually watched it on CNN and someone posted a lie actually from the CNN online network.

Okay...2nd pg. confirms article?http://www.seashepherd.org/whales/

Highlights from our past three decades include:

Ramming and disabling the notorious pirate whaler, the Sierra
Shutting down half of the Spanish whaling fleet
Documentation of whaling activities in the Faeroe Islands chronicled in the
BBC documentary Black Harvest
Scuttling half of the Icelandic whaling fleet and whale processing station
Scuttling of the Norwegian whaling vessels Nybraena and Senet
Confronting and opposing Japan's illegal whaling in Antarctica
Sea Shepherd has gone on to end the careers of 9 illegal whaling vessels, saving thousands of whales. These campaigns and other Sea Shepherd efforts have kept the issue of whaling in the international spotlight for the past thirty years.

Sea Shepherd's mission is to end the destruction of habitat and the slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately-balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.

The armed forces of the world should be stopping these whale kills. Majority rules and it was ruled in the mid 80's!!!!!!!!

Thanksz for the notes and inspiring comments y'all ~ let us see what happens at the aussie federal elections on Saturday with our present 'whales for trade deals' PM, little johnny Howard, up against the opposition leader, 'get the gun-boats out' Kevin Rudd ~ with the 'Rudsta' ahead in the polls and looking a big chance of winning, our good captain Paul Watson may not have to do the aussie governments job alone for once ~ lets just hope there's time enough between the changeover of government and the beginning of the Japanese Death Star's unconscionable planned act of whale genecide ~ at least our new incoming PM will have the balls to tackle the Japanese govenment and take them to the court of the Tribunal of the Law of the Sea ~ Japan must be stopped from committing this senseless atrocity once and for all ~ BOYCOTT EM good folk!

$100.00 donation to the Sea Shepherd can pay for 1/3 ton fuel for their ship this Dec. they could really use it or any amount of donations.

How does violence convince someone to stop their own violence? It doesn't. Let's stick with the MLK approaches to saving the environment/animals, they work better.

I wish that non-violence could work here, but these whales are like the Jews under Hitler; the perps won't be stopped except by being physically stopped.
