The European Union has delivered a strong message of mercy to the world's persecuted seal population. The European Commission adopted a proposal today to ban all products from seals killed inhumanely from import into European Union member nations.

Someone is finally understanding the cruelty involved! Fighting animal abuse is such an uphill war, that winning one small battle is good. Thanks, Tony.

I hope this is really for real. Of course Canada will argue that their killing methods are humane. Time for these people to create a different, non-violent industry.

I hope that we can protect these precious seals before Global Warming wipes them away. Besides.. the polar bears are hungry out there! Who are we to claim these mammals for a few furry trinkets? It's their world too... I can only hope and pray that they put a stop to this before next years "hunt". It makes me so sick year after year...., let's end this! Canada needs to focus on tourism. I would love to be able to go out to the ice to see these beautiful creatures. But it seems poor ice is eliminating them faster than the "hunters". The world really needs to wake up about Global Warming and do more than just change a light bulb.
