Unbelievable! Over 13,000 birds massacred as they migrate to feeding areas. This isn't simply a few "extremists" people doing this in Muslim Lebanon. We're talking over 13,000 birds including eagles, falcons and cranes.

What is it with animal cruelty in Muslim countries? Lebanon has no state hunting control system. Most Muslim countries have no animal protection laws at all.

The Lebanese government must stop this slaughter. Thousands of birds, spanning at least 143 species of birds, are being slaughtered. The Lebanese government must introduce national legislation on hunting and wildlife conservation. This slaughter is environmentally destructive.

It's not a bird but the question is the same.

For Christmas, a Jewish friend gave me a toy rabbit which must have been made by activists. It's very pretty,
this little gray rabbit. I have it on a small table. When I pass by and press it's back it makes the sweetest sounds of delight but every so often, when I press it, it says "Why kill me?"

Interesting how the word slaughter is so often associated with the radical Muslins.

They're probably having a great time using the birds for target practice.

Love of death is their way.

This is just so awful, it's culture, I see it all the time, animals are just a tool, a means of making money, or living off them. So sad! Where are their educators?? I can't see care2 having any influence here...

Muslim countries have no animal rights / protection laws - how can they be called muslims??

In Islam, mistreating an animal is considered a sin. The Quran and guidance from the Prophet Muhammad, as recorded in hadith, give many examples and directives about how Muslims should treat animals.

Animal Communities
The Quran describes that animals form communities, just as humans do: "There is not an animal that lives on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but they form communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they all shall be gathered to their Lord in the end" (Quran 6:38).

The Quran further describes animals, and all living things, as muslim - in the sense that they live in the way that Allah created them to live, and obey Allah's laws in the natural world. Although animals do not have free will, they follow their natural, God-given instincts - and in that sense they "submit to God's will," which is Islam. “Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praise all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise, and Allah knows well all that they do.” (Quran 24:41)

These verses remind us that animals are living creatures with feelings and connections to the larger spiritual and physical world. We must consider their lives as worthwhile and cherished. "And the earth, He has assigned it to all living creatures" (Quran 55:10).

Sadly Lebabon isn't the only countru this is happening. Tthe same is happening (and has been happening for centuries) in Italy. Every year 100 million! migratory birds are caught in nets or on glued sticks and killed for consumption. Others are shot for sport. Until now all actions against it have been to no avail. It is considered a tradition much like bullfighting in Spain.

Dayanna - you may personally care for animals, and that's good. However, the overall tone in Islamic doctrine is death.

Did you see another article I posted on Muslims Using Puppies As Bombs? Here is the link:

You will see many of the anti-dog words from Muhammad's Sunna. The nice-sounding words are early on. Then he turned on dogs all because he thought an angel (Jibril) couldn't enter his house because of a dog. How weak is Muhammad's version of Gabriel that a dog could stop him!

Just like Muhammad turned on dogs, he turned on people, even his own Meccan tribe. He turned against Jews and Christians after trying to convince them he was a Biblical prophet. He could not convince them because he was not a prophet of God. The nature of Muhammad's Allah is contrary to the nature of Yahweh.

Muhammad also turned on women. While it was nice he spoke against burying infant girls, he overall made the situation of women worse.

You cited Sura 24.41. Why don't you read a few ayat earlier, 24:33. Tell me what that says about women. Also, read 4:3. 4:24, 23:6, 33:50-52, 70:30.

You also cited Sura 55. Please read 55:56, 72-74 and tell me what that says. Also read 78:31-34.

Islam is not what you think. It is the opposite, as vile as vile can be.
