British families have been eating food tainted with poisonous toxins for at least three weeks.Supermarkets are now stripping shelves of the children's cakes, sponges and quiches made with contaminated German eggs.

I am not sure whether we are seeing more contamination of our food supply or better reporting or both. One thing is for sure, there is no guarantee of untainted food supplies, no matter how careful we are.

What's the fuss all about? It's not as if any one died or got ill from eating any one of those products. I would be more concerned with the plastic packaging and preservatives in the product than the minute traces of dioxins! Noted. Thank you Anna!

I do not understand why the products were not tested before they reached the supermarkets. This is indeed alarmning. Thank you, Anna. We must learn that government does not test all food before it is put on sale.

The nation-wide egg recall is growing, but Nebraska grocers say you can set aside your fear when filling up your shopping cart.

Two Iowa farms recalled more than a half-a-billion eggs combined.

Some of them in Nebraska.

The tainted eggs are connected to more than 1,000 cases of Salmonella poisoning across the country.

In our state, eight people were hospitalized, including one person in Lancaster County.

So far, Walgreens is the only local retailer we know that received bad eggs. But they've removed all those from the shelves.

Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms in Iowa produced the eggs connected to the Salmonella outbreak.

Have Hillandale Farms eggs in your fridge? Better check the dates and plant number to see if they are being recalled.

Ohio appears to have missed the first round of recent egg recalls, but not the second.

The more control an individual has over his or her food supply the better. The you know where your food is coming from, what went into it, and how long it's been on the shelf.

Another thing to worry about. Big surprise. what can we eat that is totally safe?? Nothing, that's what. Even home grown vegetable aren't totally organic any more with all the chemicals in our soil. Even if you don't add anything there is still run off, acid rain, etc. sigh........
