Despite 20 years of effort, greenhouse gas emissions are going up instead of down, hitting record highs as climate negotiators gather to debate a new global warming accord.

sadly noted, but I disagree with the premise that 20 years of trying....20 years of discussing global warming and maybe about 10 years of a minority of people, caring and working to reduce emissions....BIG BUSINESS, GOVERNMENTS, and most people in industrialized nations haven't been trying to cutdown on emissions and "2nd/3rd world countries" many people are just trying to survive....
unfortunately because we have been so slow and lazy in counter-acting this it is likely levels will rise for another 20 years even if today we suddenly did all the good things....
the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the 2nd best time today...
the best time to have reduced emissions was 20 years ago, but better today than never...

keep working....and keep care2ing....

We'er toast, unless more are willing to give up what's called progress which really isn't. I love horses myself and the thought of riding to the store if there still is one not so bad. The hand held devices, the cars, the instant gratification life styles must go and even then would the emissions go down? We've started something that probably can't be controlled it's man controlling life that got us in the mess.

Lessee, after all those insects, volcanoes, cattle, and natural forest fires comes human-initiated pollution. There are too many humans on the planet; we should have begun space colonies decades ago but government got in the way so we have nowhere to expand to. Government still obstructs real effort to either balance out human presence or use tech to compensate. So it goes...

I can tell a difference. The swings in climate are just too big now.

When oh when will the U.S. Government stop letting big industry run our country?!! This is so very sad, mostly for our children, grandchildren, and all the non-human species. It's one thing to not act because of ignorance, but when humans become aware of their mistakes, if they don't act, then I wish only those would be the ones affected by the aftermath of not taking action.

I think we need a more sustainable economic system as advocated by CASSE at . I encourage everyone who has not yet signed their position statement to consider doing so, at that site.

Climate change is very concerning. We must do what we can to reduce climate changing emissions.

We need to stop overpopulating and overwhelming this planet. Stupidity and apathy can no longer be tolerated. The greed of corporations must be stopped.

The funny thing is.......when countries are stable, socially and economically, population becomes stable.
